When you find yourself in Metro Manila for a day or two, heading out to explore can feel daunting. The chaos, the heat, the noise—it’s enough to make even seasoned travelers pause. But that’s exactly where the real adventure begins.
This isn’t just any curated food crawl. It’s not a staged night market built for Instagram feeds. No. This is a Manila street food tour as it truly is—alive, gritty, sizzling, and unapologetic. Loud. Sweaty. Deliciously chaotic. If you’re lucky, a tricycle will be your ride and the smoky aroma of grilled pork your guide.
For travelers looking for authentic things to do in Manila, this experience is the perfect mix of culture and cuisine. Guided by a local, you’ll dive into a crash course in Philippine street food—from skewered barbecue and deep-fried snacks to hearty stews, soups, and sweet Filipino desserts.
Bring an open mind and an empty stomach, and get ready for one of the most flavorful food experiences in Manila.

The street food tour was great, we got to taste lots of different dishes that we definitely would not have tried had we not done the food tour. If you are food fans like we are then that would have been a real miss! Our guide, Chloe, was also great, she explained a lot about the foods, which were both sweet and savoury and we also got to learn more about the culture and the history of the Philippines. As part of the tour, we got two short rides in a tricycle and a Jeepney (local bus) and it was good to travel in this common mode of transport used by many in the Philippines. All in all, a great tour. Choke was exceptional and nothing was too much trouble, she even assisted in helping us get a taxi back to our hotel.

This was an INCREDIBLE tour! Jian was very friendly and knowledgeable about his country and the food. I happened to be the only one on this tour, but I don't doubt that you would get a similarly excellent experience even in a large group. This tour is in a neighborhood which isn't in a touristy area. The food vendors there aren't catering to tourist tastes; these are authentic Filipino foods. Of course, you might think that you could just go and do this sort of tour on your own, right? After all, there are plenty of pictures of the food on here, right? Well, if your only objective is to fill your stomach with tasty food, then sure. Go and order all of those things on your own, and you'll pay a fraction of what the tour costs. But you'll miss out on all of the wonderful insights of the tour guide. This tour wasn't just about eating food. It was about getting to know Filipino culture through food. The various dishes are just the starting point for all of the facts and stories, and that's what makes this tour truly special. One other thing that I'll address is the slightly odd hour of the tour. It's squarely in the middle of the afternoon. That is so that you don't need to wait in lines near the dinner rush. I would recommend that you just skip lunch if you are able, and maybe even breakfast! You'll certainly eat your fill on this tour, and it's all good food, even the things which are a bit more "adventurous." If you're deciding between this tour and another one, just do this.

A brilliant thing to do! Chloe was amazing, looked after me when we were moving around, always making sure i was happy & safe. The food she selected for me was perfect and can’t praise her enough. The added bonus of travelling in a sidecar bike & in a jeep was amazing! It was everything I wanted & more.

Beyond expectations, we really booked this without knowing much about the food we would experience, or the amazing hospitality that would be offered. Chloe was such a pleasure knowledgeable entertaining a most gracious host. There were many fun things along the way. I highly recommend. I would add photos but I think that going into this tour one should and just let any thoughts slide to the side and go with the flow and you will enjoy it. Just a thought to make like easier .... Manila traffic can be fun so grant yourself extra time to get to and from the tour, remember that it is also part of the experience.
