Embark on an unforgettable journey with Vertex's experience in Zapallar, Valparaíso region.
Departing from Santiago, we'll explore this coastal gem, starting with a picturesque coastal walk through Cachagua and Zapallar. Discover the richness of flora, fauna, and protected wildlife in this area.
Later, we'll take a boat to the Natural Monument of Cachagua Island, home to colonies of Humboldt penguins (The penguins migrate to this island between November and March. This population represents 6% of the world's total.). Observe these adorable birds along with dolphins, sea lions, seabirds, and other species inhabiting the central coast of Chile.
Enjoy a tasting of local food, followed by lunch (not included), savoring seafood paired with local beers or wines. Immerse yourself in the natural beauty and marine diversity of the central Pacific coast with Vertex.

What To Expect
We will start the hike to reach an overlook of Cerro de la Cruz. Its flora is mainly composed of coastal vegetation, such as bushes and seaweed. Regarding fauna, the island is a refuge for seabirds like seagulls and pelicans, as well as a spotting point for sea lions. The strategic location of Cerro La Cruz makes it a natural attraction for birdwatchers and marine explorers

5.00Our recent trip with Vertex Tours to Zapallar, Chile, was a delightful experience filled with scenic views, engaging activities, and delicious culinary delights. The journey began with a pleasant hour and a half drive from our starting point, during which our knowledgeable guide, Esteban, shared fascinating insights into Chile's rich history. Upon arrival in Zapallar, we embarked on a leisurely hike offering breathtaking vistas of the city and the sparkling ocean beyond. The tranquil surroundings provided a perfect backdrop for absorbing the natural beauty of the Chilean coastline. One of the highlights of our day was the boat ride to Penguin Island, guided by a local fisherman. While it was the end of the season, it was still incredible to witness the penguins in a natural habitat. After our adventures, we were treated to a sumptuous lunch featuring fresh seafood paired with excellent Chilean wine. The meal was rounded off with mouthwatering empanadas. To conclude our excursion, Esteban led us on another nature hike, further enhancing our appreciation of Chile's diverse landscapes and wildlife. Throughout the trip, Esteban's expertise and passion for his country's culture and nature were evident, adding depth to our experience. His friendly demeanor and attention to detail ensured that every aspect of the journey was enjoyable and educational. In summary, our trip to Zapallar with Vertex Tours was a perfect way to spend the day.
