Hamid our guide was very dedicated, told us a lot about the Bedouins and the starry sky. You could tell that he knows the subject well and reported with passion. Unfortunately, it was a little short of time for stargazing. The food was very delicious, the people very nice, all in all a successful day.

Our guide Hamid received us very friendly. He spoke excellent German. He was able to tell us a lot about Bedouin life. Hamid also shone with a lot of knowledge about the individual stars in the sky. We also felt positive that the program went on without rushing and with a lot of peace. Overall a very nice and relaxed afternoon with Hamid.

Pros: Our German speaking guide Hamid was super attentive, nice and had good knowledge of German. The stargazing with telescope was also very informative and well and entertainingly led by him. A quad bike and independent car ride through the desert at sunset were a unique experience with this backdrop. The buffet in the Bedouin village under the starry sky was good, but the topic of quenching thirst was a little neglected throughout the day. Cons: The camel ride went only 2 minutes and about 50m back and forth. In some cases, other actions were drawn out a bit unnecessarily to fill the time. If you have back problems or if the roller coasters are too thrilled, you should definitely not book this experience: The "4x4 Jeep Adventure through the Desert" is like a near-death experience. Far too fast and especially at night in the dark absolutely reckless is shot through the desert, you arrive wet sweaty and with a sense of relief, after you thought every few seconds the car is right on the roof. Not for the faint-hearted, only the driver has fun here. Conclusion: Overall, however, a successful, raunchy day filled with memories, many different things you have experienced and many good pictures that can arise. We are glad to have done it, but also no longer need a second trip of this kind on our holiday. The positive memories clearly outweigh the negative memories. However, if you are looking forward to a guided camel hike, you are still wrong here.

A year ago I went to this trip and fell in love with it. I took my friends this year so that they could share my wonderful experience, in large part thanks to my previous, amazing guide - Arabi. Unfortunately, this year a lot of things changed. Last year I visited the same Beduin village, there was making bread with the Beduins and learning a lot about their culture, since Arabi told us in great detail about their customs. This year, the "meeting with the Beduins" was just a sales pitch for their natural medicines, where we were just learning about what we can buy from them at the end of the presentation...one of the groups arrived very late, and the presentation had to be started over. After it finished, we were suddenly aggressively hurried by an unpleasant guy that "we need to go NOW", he didn't tell us why. He was very annoyed. He didn't let my friends pay for their purchase in the Beduin natural medicine tent, and they were later hassled for the money, like it was their fault they couldn't pay. It wasn't. We were ordered to LEAVE IMMEDIATELY. It turned out that because the tour didn't account for the last group arriving so late, we missed the sunset entirely, so there was no "climbing the mountain to enjoy the beautiful sunset". By the time they were finished selling us stuff, the sunset was already over. Next, we were hurried to the dune buggies - where two of our friends were COMPLETELY FORGOTTEN AND LEFT BEHIND IN THE CAMP, ALONE. When we were calling for them to come ride the dune buggies with us, one of the guides said not to call them and that he will take care of it. He asked how many there was of us, I answered we're still waiting for 2 people, and he said okay. "Okay" in that case meant that he didn't care about our friends and he just left them alone at the camp. They didn't know where the guide is and weren't informed that we urgently had to go, he didn't bother searching for them, even if it took 30 seconds. The quads were okay, decent ride length. However, there were just two camels, and they were mistreated and dragged around for a ride that lasted maybe a full minute for each person, forced to constantly get up and lay down. The Beduin dance and fire show were admittedly beautiful, both artists were something special. The dinner was alright too. That's what's the two stars is for. The stargazing is where the disappointment was the biggest - last year, we were all laying down on carpets around the telescope, comfortably looking at the sky, while Arabi passionately told us about the stars, constellations, planets, and their significance for Egyptian culture. We saw many stars through an excellently calibrated telescope, while Arabi made sure to describe each one - it was amazing. This year, the stargazing was just 20 minutes of standing around a telescope all so we can see a very blurry sight of Saturn and the star Vega (easily visible with a naked eye). The guide couldn't sharpen the image, couldn't show us anything else, even though we had a person skilled at astronomical observations in our group that could've easily located currently visible nebulas and comets in the night sky so that we could have a better experience. The guide fumbled around with the telescope for a while to no avail, and then announced the time was over. I understand they don't want any outsider touching that expensive telescope, but for god's sake, at least hire a person who actually knows how to use it. Next he briefly showed where zodiac constellations are and the stargazing experience was over. We were so disappointed, especially the above mentioned person who booked the trip especially to get to know more about the Egyptian night sky. One person of our group has left his glasses at the first camp, and he was told that it's no problem and he can only get them later, as he too was hurried aggressively to the dune buggies. After we came back from stargazing, they refused to give him his glasses back. It took 2 days of constant texting, effort, and very harsh words on my part to finally get them returned to us. Zizu was helpful in the matter. A year ago I would've recommended this trip wholeheartedly. As of now, I'd advise you to choose a different activity. Some things are nice, but the overall disorganization, dishonesty and pushing to buy stuff instead of a somewhat authentic experience is not worth the money.

  • Horrible Experience – Save Your Money and Time!

I took the stargazing tour with camel ride and dinner in Marsa Alam, and it was an absolute disaster from start to finish. Here’s why you should think twice before booking: 1. Animal Cruelty – Heartbreaking and Unsafe: There were only two camels available, and they were severely underfed, clearly suffering, and visibly distressed. They cried out, bit people, and outright refused to let anyone ride them. The “camel ride” lasted maybe two minutes and was so unethical it bordered on animal abuse. Almost no one wanted to participate once they saw the condition of the animals. 2. Hidden Sales Pitch – Complete Waste of Time: What was supposed to be an authentic experience turned into a disguised hour-long sales pitch. We were pressured to buy items we didn’t want, and most of the group ended up walking out of the tent in frustration. 3. Fake Bedouin Village – Nothing Authentic Here: The so-called “Bedouin village” was nothing more than a tourist camp designed to deceive visitors. There was no genuine cultural element to it, just another manufactured experience. 4. Dangerous Stargazing Setup: The stargazing portion was poorly handled. The laser pointer used to show constellations was far too powerful and was waved around recklessly, posing a serious risk to people’s eyes. Instead of being amazed by the stars, I was more concerned about safety. 5. Ridiculously Overpriced: For €60, I expected a professional, well-organized tour. Instead, it was an amateurish and overpriced ordeal with almost nothing worthwhile included. The Only Saving Grace: The guide, Arabin, was knowledgeable and seemed genuinely passionate about the stars. He should seriously consider offering private tours that skip all the unnecessary nonsense imposed by the tour company. Conclusion: This tour was a massive disappointment and a complete rip-off. Between the unethical treatment of animals, the fake and forced experiences, and the dangerous stargazing setup, I cannot recommend this to anyone. Spend your money elsewhere!

I had a fantastic evening! Araby was good at communicating and confirming details. The pickup was prompt. Dawod (David) spoke English well and was so knowledgeable about the Bedouin history and culture. I learned a lot about stars and constellations from him as well. The dinner was one of the best I had in my two weeks in Egypt.

As agreed, we were picked up from our hotel by a taxi van. After a short drive we left the main road and drove into the wilderness. At the Bedouin camp we were welcomed by our guide Ferris. He introduced us to the residents of the camp. We were welcomed with coffee. After a discussion about the Bedouin customs, the camels were saddled for a short ride. We were also allowed to bake bread. After this, we admired the sunset from a hill together with our guide. In the meantime, our food was prepared in the traditional way. This tasted really good. Meanwhile, Ferris had set up the telescope to view the stars and planets. He gave a very detailed explanation of everything we saw. It was very special to admire the stars in this way.

Big DISAPPOINTMENT! This excursion was way over-priced for what it was. We had done an excursion in the desert to visit a Bedouin camp in the past and this one paled in comparison. Here are a few things that let us down: - hotel transfer was supposed to be in an air conditioned vehicle. Instead, we were picked up by an off-duty, old taxi, with no A/C (not even working windows from the back seat) - we had to walk to the gates of our resort complex because the driver wasn’t let in, which was not a problem for any of the other tours we took during our stay. (The other tours had legitimate vehicles) - Only 2 of us did the camel ride (the 3rd person in the group chose not to), but regardless of this THE RIDE WAS LESS THAN 5 MINUTES!! Which was a big let down when the excursion description promised 30 minutes. We got on the camels, they were led up a sight hill and we got off. 5 minutes total. What was good: - Our time at the Bedouin camp was nice. Our hosts offered us hibiscus drink when we arrived and the local coffee and food was very good. They talked to us about their daily routine and culture. - The stargazing was also nice and the explanations interesting. Overall we were disappointed and the whole thing felt very gimmicky - all about taking pictures of us doing stuff. The price per person charged is way too high for the experience.
