  • Great experience in Egypt with a great guide

This experience has given me an oppurtunity to see some of the worlds most beautiful and picturesque landmarks with deep rooted history. We had a great guide, Mohamed Gobran and learned the ways of the ancient egyptians and their history. Mohamed explanation a different level as he managed to excite us

My wife and I booked this not quite knowing what to expect. But I can say that everything was awesome. Even though it's Ramadan the ship still served alcohol. Our guide Mohamed G. was a fun guy and very knowledgeable. He had all the answers and then some. The locations we visited were stunning. It's hard to describe being in their presence. The only aspect we didn't like was the long bus journey to and from Abu Simbel. But that temple is absolutely worth visiting. Lunches and dinners everyday had lots of variety. For my wife who is vegan she was happy with the options. There was a girl who was celiac and the chefs also accommodated her upon request. As for the room, I haven't nothing bad to say. It was comfy and clean and did the job for the few days. We also met some nice people on board and the staff also did a great job

The experience is recommended! Be prepared for days full of adventure and good planning. Our guide Mohamed Gobran explains everything in detail - he’s very knowledgeable and it’s on top of everything! He is friendly, kind, funny and makes sure you’re treated well. Something I liked was that he always asked how we were doing :)

  • Mixed feelings (but the sightseeing part was great)

The trip left me with mixed feelings. On the one hand, some of the negative reviews about the cruise turned out to be inaccurate. The strange reviews were one of the reasons I was hesitant to book this excursion, and I’m glad that my concerns were not entirely justified. Here are the details. Cons: 1. The biggest downside – the photos of the cabins and the ship do not match reality. From what I understood, the ship can change (depending on some unclear factors), and the one we got was not the one shown in the photos—keep this in mind. The room was old and had an unpleasant smell—cleaning chemicals and humidity. The shower was broken. Thankfully, hot water was available 24/7, otherwise, I would have been extremely disappointed. In general, all the photos listed that show the ship and cabins are inaccurate. Apparently, they change, and you never know which ship you’ll actually get. In our cabin, the window could not be opened. 2. Wi-Fi is not free. There is no complimentary Wi-Fi in the cabins. Everything requires an additional payment. 3. All drinks require an extra charge. Even water. This was quite strange. Pros: 1. You get to see an incredible number of landmarks. If you were to book everything on your own, it would take a lot of effort, nerves, and money. The itinerary is fantastic for those who want to explore Egypt and its historical sites. 2. The reviews about the guide were true. Our guide was Mohammed Gobran, whom I had read about in several reviews. He was knowledgeable, providing detailed explanations about each monument, and did an incredible job organizing the group and managing transportation throughout the trip. He also collected tips for the crew upfront, which prevented anyone from constantly asking us for extra gratuities (although some crew members did linger, hoping for additional tips, but the guide strictly told us not to give extra as we had already contributed $15 per person). His control over the situation significantly made our lives easier. 3. The hot air balloon ride was unfortunately canceled due to weather conditions. We were offered a refund or the option to reschedule for the next day. We requested a refund, and Viator credited $50 back to our card within a few days. *Here are some clarifications regarding questionable reviews I read before the trip*: 1) No one asked for extra tips (as long as they were pre-paid, like in our case). 2) The buffet was fine – the food varied every day. 3) Viator does refund the hot air balloon ride if it is canceled. 4) The guide did not insist that we write a review in front of him (maybe others do, but ours did not). Final Thoughts: For visiting so many historical sites, this trip was more than worth it. Given the itinerary, I tried to overlook the cramped, not-so-pleasant-smelling cabin and focused on enjoying the historical part of the journey. However, the misrepresentation of the rooms in the photos significantly impacted my overall impression of the organization.
