The cruise ship itself is good, room isn't cramped, bathroom is decently sized by ship standards. I'm impressed with the daily cleaning and the attention put to maintaining overall tidiness of the cruise ship. Staff is courteous and helpful with no pressure for on-the-spot tipping. The staff will help you call the guide to minimize miscommunication, in my experience cruise ship staff speaks better English than guides and most definitely drivers. Catering is a downside as there is NO water included - you have to either bring your own OR buy on the ship, the food is also nothing to write home. The food, mostly western, is on the bland and unimpressive side, but a few Egyptian looking dishes were the saving grace. The logistics can be better though. Pickup was at 9am but the west side of the Nile isn't included. I recall you can choose 8 or 12 o'clock pickups so definitely choose the latter unless you want to chill on the ship. The time imo can be better spent on a tourist spot like the Unfinished Obelisk, which I missed given my tight schedule in Aswan. The first night on cruise ship was redundant to me (could have spent one more night on land hotels) since the boat does not sail to Abu Simbel, instead you have to wake up at 3:30am and drive 5-6 hours round trip. These are minor gripes, but combined made the tour a 4-star instead of 5. Note: Tipping is done at the end of cruise with your tip in an envelope.

We were blessed with the presence of an amazing guide, King Mina. Mina kept us informed of our Itenary from the inception of our trip. His experience and knowledge has assisted us in understanding the background of Egypt and the history behind it. King Mina, had guided us through our journey in assisting with our request as well as making sure our safety was priority. A huge thank you to Mina for arranging a surprise party for my husband on the Nile cruise on such short notice. Forever grateful for his kind gesture. Seriously the best guide one could ask for and would highly recommend him. This is why he is called the KING 🤴 👏

Our journey on the Nile Cruise started in the worst way. After a 10-hour drive to Aswan, exhausted, we arrived at the meeting point without having received any information: no one had told us who was coming to pick us up, what our ship was, where to go. Nothing. On the day of check-in we were literally left to providence in a country with very different uses and dynamics from ours. We then discovered, talking to other travelers, that this disorganization is normal for them: everyone was in the same situation. After an hour of crying and panic, only thanks to our private driver (who had the kindness to stay with us) someone finally deigned to answer. The justification? “We were praying.” I deeply respect religion, but it is not acceptable to disappear on the day of check-in without even providing a message, leaving tourists – often single women – without any reference. Another girl in our group was taken out of nowhere, in the dark, alone, at 4am, after waiting more than an hour in terror. Not acceptable. The disorganization then continues for the duration of the journey: late excursions, crazy car races to make up for lost time, drivers who drive as if there were no tomorrow putting passengers' lives at risk. One of the team's drivers even got the pickup wrong and, in order not to go around again, drove almost 2km in reverse in a one-way street with all of us on board. I've never seen anything like it. The day of the balloon was yet another disaster: again late, we were literally pushed into the basket, because the balloon was complete and they were waiting for us. Zero time for photos or instructions. The ship, Kira, is definitely very dirty, certainly below the minimum standards expected from a Nile cruise. The only positive notes: the cabin staff, really nice, and the food, good and different every day. The restaurant and staff are the only real pleasant part of the experience. In conclusion: If you suffer from anxiety or want a relaxing trip, AVOID. If instead you like to experience the adrenaline of the unknown, run out of information until the last second and risk your life for the delays of others... then this is the perfect tour for you.
