What To Expect

Begin your day with a breathtaking 360-degree view as the sun rises over the island, rewarding your efforts with stunning panoramic scenery. The Hike: Ascent: 1.5 - 2hours, with multiple rest stops. •Section 1: A cardio-focused, steady climb, reaching 260 meters above sea level. This portion covers a moderate gradient and distance. •Section 2: Scramble using hands and feet, with three points of contact for safety, over a 69-meter section. Afterward, continue with a steady ascent to the summit at 493 meters above sea level. •Summit: Spend 20 minutes at the top, absorbing the breathtaking panoramic views of Mauritius’ stunning landscape. Descent: 1.5 hours, with regular stops to learn about the area’s unique exotic and endemic species. Group Size: Small, intimate private groups of 2-6 people–perfect for couples, families and close friends seeking a personalised experience. Difficulty: Intermediate. The climb features some steep sections that require the use of hands for safe ascent. Distance: 6 km Elevation: 490 m

5.00We had the chance to climb Le Morne with Vanessa, and it was an absolutely exceptional experience! Start at 5am, just the two of us, which allowed us to enjoy a totally quiet route, with incredible views throughout the climb. Vanessa is a passionate, very professional guide, and her explanations of the history of Le Morne and Mauritius were as interesting as they were touching. She taught us the right techniques to climb and descend safely, which allowed us to live the experience fully and serenely. We recommend Vanessa with her eyes closed for those who want to experience a unique, authentic and perfectly supervised ascent. Another huge thank you Vanessa! 🙏🏽⛰️✨

4.00Vanessa is an enthusiastic, friendly and smiling guide. Its pace is dynamic and steady, which will suit especially those who are already used to hiking. For beginners, it can be a bit sporty and challenging. Vanessa regularly took pictures during the hike, which leaves us with great memories. Thanks again Vanessa! The start at 04:30 is ideal, as it avoids the crowds as well as the heat of the fast-moving sun. Hiking in itself is a real must do: the view is breathtaking and breathtaking. It’s definitely worth going beyond your fears and out of your comfort zone: the reward at the top is well worth it.

5.00It was an amazing hike! We had the luck of being the only couple booked for the time, and had a wonderful time with Vanessa. She set a very good pace for the climb, showing us all the easy and safe places to use; and was very patient and slow/careful on the descend to make sure we don't slip. It was such a fun experience, filled with nice conversations, great views and the feeling of accomplishment. We recommend booking your hike with Vanessa to make sure you have a very personal and unforgettable experience.

5.00This guided hike was absolutely perfect for me, as someone with a fear of heights and limited hiking or climbing experience, I felt supported and safe throughout. Vanessa took the time to get to know each of us and made sure no one felt left behind. Her attentiveness was especially valuable during the second part of the hike, which was a bit more challenging and technical. What I appreciated most was how she supported us throughout. Particularly the descent, which I had been most anxious about. Normally, looking down from heights can be overwhelming for me, but with Vanessa’s calm, grounding prompts and gentle guidance, I was able to manage it with surprising ease. Her approach helped me stay connected to the environment and present in the moment, turning what could have been a stressful experience into something truly empowering. Another highlight of the experience was how Vanessa wove in the history of Mauritius and Le Morne mountain throughout the hike. She shared powerful stories about the mountain’s significance, especially its role as a place of refuge for escaped slaves, and helped us understand the deep emotional and historical weight the site carries. Learning about the island’s past while hiking on such a meaningful landmark made the experience all the more profound and memorable.

5.00A highlight of my time in Mauritius! Vanessa gave us such a wonderful experience, helping us to feel safe and confident climbing and descending the mountain. Doing this activity in a small group was great, as we all received advise/support during the climb. Vanessa also shared more about Mauritius and the history of Le Morne, making the trip more impactful. We are beginner climbers with ok fitness levels and Vanessa really helped during the technical climb, showing the best techniques and ensuring we got to the top safely. It was a great feeling to reach the summit and get the reward of the beautiful views. Throughout the hike, Vanessa took photos of us, meaning we could focus on what we were doing and be really present during the climb. I would 100% recommend booking this trip with Vanessa. A fantastic experience!

5.00The hike was just fantastic! Vanessa is a great hiking guide – competent, friendly and always with a smile. The group was pleasantly small, which made the whole thing even more personal. We were the first on the summit and were able to enjoy the breathtaking view in peace. It was especially great that Vanessa provided us with exciting insights into the history of Mauritius – which enriched the hike even more. And of course there were many perfect photo spots where we could capture beautiful memories. Absolutely recommend!
