The day was wet but the shuttle was warm. Fog and clouds and rain at the glacier disappeared and the hike to the falls was easy but muddy. The falls were powerful and loud! We then turned around and walked to the closest point to view the glacier. Very happy the weather cooperated and we got to see it. It was beautiful but it’s so tragic that it is shrinking faster than normal. Drive back was easy. We could have taken a taxi for a bit less, most likely, but this was the easiest way to get there. The greeters were all helpful and kind.

If it is rainy and foggy, cancel before the 24 hrs deadline. We couldnt see anything. Bus was late departing and it left us with a decision to make...speed walk to see nugget falls and chance making it back in time...we decided being stuck in the rain would not be fun. Spent about 15 minutes there. On a positive note, the bus drivers were fun and informative. Sweet busses as well.

Tour was essentially a bus ride to and from the glacier. The bus driver did provide commentary when in transit.

This was a fantastic tour but I wish we had more time. Kenny drove the bus out the the glacier and he was a hoot. He also gave us great information about Juneau and the area. We got to go to the visitors center and then we were able to hike to Nugget Falls, but time was running out so we had to hurry back. If this excursion was even just an hour longer that would have been perfect. But overall it was a great experience.

This was a wonderful excursion. Easy to find the guide at the port. Alicia was a terrific guide. She was very informative, gave a lot of information about Juneau and the areas we passed on the way to the glacier. Smaller vehicles made the trip more enjoyable than being on a large coach.
