Step inside the country’s most important venue for Bökh, where locals gather to celebrate strength, tradition, and pride. Take time to absorb the atmosphere as wrestlers prepare for competition and the crowd builds with anticipation. According to Mongolian tradition, Bökh dates back more than a thousand years, originating from the military training practices of Chinggis Khaan’s army and later becoming a centerpiece of the Naadam Festival. During the tournament, you’ll watch wrestlers face off in intense matches where the goal is to force an opponent to touch the ground with anything other than their feet. As ritual eagle dances mark each round, feel the energy of the crowd rise and fall with every decisive move—offering a powerful glimpse into Mongolia’s living cultural heritage.
