What To Expect
Kayaking in Monterey is often the highlight of any trip to the area. When checking into our shop, we will orient you on the perfect route to see all the wildlife in the area. Included in the rental is splash gear to keep you warm and drier and we also include a dry bag to take out cameras or phones to collect pictures of the amazing wildlife and scenery. Kayak rentals have no time limit and we encourage people who are trying this for the first time. We give a great orientation as to how to maneuver the equipment and how to stay safe. 2.00The water reflecting top and bottom smells and attracted flies while kayaking. So many flies kept following and bothering me and my son the whole time and couldn’t even focus. My son had enough and asked me to go back so we came in less than an hour. It was horrible. The lady said they wash them regularly and flies are attracted by sea kelps buy if that’s true why in the world there are so many flies are buzzing inside the shop? I believe it’s attracted by the sweat and bad smell from the unwashed, sea water soaked clothes including the life vest. I don’t ever want to go back and do not recommend to others.

4.00Saw lots of sealions, otters and cormorants, pelicans. Kayak's in good condition and easy to manoeuvre. Well organised operator. Be aware that you have to pay extra for a guide.

5.00Kayaks were somuch fun! Took great pics of otters, sea lions, starfish and weekend saw a crab in the kelp bed. The bikes were easy to learn and ride (even for a 67 year old)! We rode all over the area from Cannery Row to the Lighthouse. Breathtaking g scenery everwhere!

5.00Great way to see lots of otters! We also got to see harbor seals, sea lions and dolphins! Go early for best conditions- no wind! Also was nice that dry pants and jackets were provided. Would definitely do again!

5.00GREAT location, they have everything you need there for your experience (waterproof pants, waterproof jacket, dry bag, etc), easy check in and launch—truly, easiest experience ever and great staff. Sea otters 50 yds from launch site, easy access to aquarium on south end and marina on north end (sea lions). We even considered going back the next day. Would 110% recommend.
