Really really good. Our guide JP was excellent, a really nice guy and full of information. Nothing was too much trouble and we saw some fantastic sights.

This tour with JP was long overdue. We originally booked in 2020, when we were on a cruise to Africa. But Covid shut down everything before we reached Namibia. When we booked our 2023 Africa cruise, I immediately contacted JP to reserve the same tour for November 29. JP and his partner, Hans, were waiting when we disembarked our ship at the port of Walvis Bay and warmly greeted us. The eight of us were loaded into two vehicles. Our first stop was to see the pink flamingos in the nearby lagoon. From there, we drove to Dune #7, the highest dune in Namibia. We were offered the opportunity to climb the dune but opted instead to take pictures. When we left the dune, we drove to the Namibia Naukluft National Park where we saw the ever-changing dunes and surreal moon-like landscape. We made a stop at the Goanikontes Oasis which was a delightful and surprising experience - greenery in the middle of the desert. Upon leaving the oasis, we drove along the Swakop River bed with JP and Hans pointing out the many different rock formations. We made a stop at the “living fossil” Welwitschia Marbilis plants which dotted the landscape. Hans explained the difference between the male and female plants and how to determine the age of each one. After a short while, we stopped for a delicious picnic lunch, in the desert, which was enjoyed by all. When we had finished our lunch, we continued our drive along the varied rock formations with stops at the perfume plants, the singing rocks, an amazing rose quartz outcrop, and a WWII memorial. We left the desert behind for a drive to Swakopmund. Once there, we had an opportunity to stop for a walk around town or a drink at a cafe. We opted for a scenic drive through the town instead. After Swakopmund, we returned to the port and said our goodbyes. This was an amazing day and tour with two highly professional and knowledgeable guides. We left Walvis Bay with many pictures, but more importantly, memories that will be with us forever. Thank you JP and Hans for this tour!

This trip gave us a kind of real desert feeling. Going off-road and stopping at interesting places, having a picnic at Welwitschia plant, enjoying the great view on moon landscape. We spent the whole day with JP and could even inspire him to practice some geocaching with us. He is really an attentive host and makes sure you will have a pleasant day trip.

Our best experience was discovering a very young plant. Our guide hunted until it down. It was very surprising to also see the amount of plant in certain areas. We baptized the area as a "Welwitschia Forest" After the Welwitschia discovery a jaw dropping Moon Landscape. Both experiences is not to be missed. Well done John a very experienced guide.

This was a great experience driving along the water's edge and then being on top of one of the Dunes....and riding down in the jeep....OR sliding down the Dune on your butt!! The guys who talked ab out the things we saw were knowledgeable and made it interesting and not boring! Thanks for a great day.

An amazing and interesting day out in the desert. Made better by the friendly and knowledgeable guide. Dunes, Welwitscha, the river bed, animals plus the shear sight of Moon Landscape. Plus a lovely lunch in an Oasis way out in the deert ... just the two of us and the guide ... amazing. A fantastic day.

Thank you JP for your incredible hospitality and your deep knowledge and understanding of the beauty and secrets of this tiny corner of Namibia. Our group of four were met by JP dockside from our cruise ship in Walvis Bay and started our adventure with a little detour to take in the beauty of the strutting pink flamingos on the Lagoon before heading inland (just 10 minutes away) to the mighty Dune 7. And that was just the beginning of a visual feast of magically changing landscapes - the ocean, the lagoon, the dunes, the lichen covered desert, the moon landscape, the ugliest plant in the world and off road adventures in dry river beds. All interspersed with "safari fever" inspired spotters, constantly on the lookout for wildlife and we were inspired early in the day with a roadside amble with a small herd of zebra! And that was just the start of our "spotter's delight." At one stage, we found ourselves setup for a picnic lunch (complete with table cloth), under a thorn tree, sipping on blush champagne and pinching ourselves in disbelief. Such an exciting and thoroughly enjoyable day. Thank you JP for bringing this magic to our travel experience. Forever grateful.

We booked this activity for our Princess World Cruise port call at Walvis Bay and it greatly exceeded all of our expectations. J.P. met us at the dock and it was one amazing site after another for the rest of the day. We learned so much about this incredible desert and have fantastic photos and video to help us remember . But, who could forget that excellent gourmet lunch and champagne under the large acacia tree. This activity was by far the best tour of a natural attraction on the entire 111 day world cruise. If you are ever in Walvis Bay, be sure to book this amazing tour!
