Murchison River
Cruise along the Murchison on Kalbarri’s only river cruise with entertaining & informative commentary. Ideal for everyone wanting a quiet and relaxing nature-based tour. The lower reaches are home to a number of species of birdlife including Ospreys, Kites, Pelicans, Egrets, Australian Shell Ducks, Black Swans and our local White Breasted Sea Eagles. As well as Emus, Kangaroos and Goats are often seen on the riverbanks. The river at times can be 40mm deep with mullet jumping and small fish. The cruise comes to an end at the Murchison River Mouth, one of WA’s most treacherous. It’s impressive to watch the water move and boats navigate the channel. **Please note:** Minimum numbers are required for our cruises to depart, we will reach out to you if minimum numbers are not met for rescheduling or cancellation. We are pram and wheel chair friendly, please advise at time of booking.

Wow! I had no idea this would be so rich in information. Grant knows his history, landscape, geology and paleontology as well as the impacts of recent years on Kalbarri locals (2021 cyclone, fishing limits capped, exports to China of crayfish temporarily halted and Covid). I learned so much and his delivery was truly engaging. I have already recommended the tour to my friends. Don't miss this great opportunity to truly understand the place you're visiting.

If you are visiting kilbarri, I can't recommend this boat trip enough. It was great fun, interesting but never dull. Complementary tea/coffee and biscuits are a lovely touch. We saw wildlife, fish and birds of prey. Got a chance to walk the shoreline a few km up the river as well. Thanks guys for a wonderful and well organised morning's cruise 👍

What a lovely way to spend a morning with Tracy and Grant on the river. Friendly and knowledgeable. Just the right amount of commentary too. Stopped at Castle Rock for a walk, not quite to the top though. My daughter and I thoroughly enjoyed the cruise and would recommend this to others. Thank you.

An excellent cruise. Great scenery and very educational. Grant explained so much about the local fishing and crayfish industry, local animals and history of the area. As a West Australian I was surprised how much I learnt. I loved his sense of humour and how he all made us feel very comfortable as a group.

Enjoyable & relaxing cruise, although we had a very cold morning and had to rug up! Grant & Tracy were lovely hosts! Grant gave us informative commentaries and Tracy served us all hot drinks and biscuits! We learnt a lot about Kalbarri and the general area from this cruise!
