Step aboard Kalbarri’s only river cruise on the serene Murchison River. After a safety briefing, we’ll journey 6km upstream (12km round trip) to the furthest navigable point, offering captivating commentary on the region’s history, fishing industry, and unique wildlife.
Relax and take in the scenery as the landscape unfolds into open spaces and low shrubbery, home to ospreys, kites, pelicans, egrets, black swans, and the majestic white-breasted sea eagles. You might also spot kangaroos, emus, and goats along the riverbanks.
The cruise features stunning colored rock formations and a narrow channel near Goat Island. At our turnaround point, Rocky Crossing, you can stretch your legs before heading back to enjoy more sights, photos, and relaxation.
We finish at the river mouth where the Murchison meets the Indian Ocean, navigating one of WA’s most treacherous channels. Witness the power of the ocean—a perfect finale to this unforgettable experience.

The Kalbarri Wilderness Cruise was very enjoyable. The tour guide was funny and very informative on all things historical and environmental. He was safe and cautious and we felt completely confident in his abilities and also his commentary. I would recommend this excursion to anyone.

Our second time of taking this cruise, this time with my son and daughter-in-law from the UK. As with last time this was a fun, informative and very well presented cruise. Thank you to Grant and Stacy for providing an excellent evenings entertainment. We will certainly be back in the future.

A very pleasant and informative two & a half hours, concluding with a stunning river mouth view of the sunset. Saw lots of eagles, kangaroos, feral goats and bird life. Learnt a lot about the local environment, history and ecology of the area. Recommended.

We booked this river trip on the day before we left to go to Kalbarri to ensure we got a place and I'm glad we did. It was a very beautiful day for the river trip and Grant was so informative about the river it's wildlife and the fishing industry and funny too. Tracey worked hard too making tea coffee and providing us with biscuits. They are a lovely couple that did everything to make sure we enjoyed ourselves. It was a fantastic trip which I would highly recommend

What a way to enjoy the kalbarri sunset! Grant and Tracy were impeccable hosts. The tour was relaxed, fun and informative. The sunset at the end was perfection! Its a bloody bargain and a “must do” during your visit to Kalbarri. Great for young and old and super easy to get to as it leaves right from the heart of kalbarri beach front. Two thumbs up! Thanks for the laughs Danielle & Sonya
