Langkawi lowland rainforest contains numerously specialized and endemic floras and fauna that can be found nowhere else in the world. I found this two-hour morning tour while looking for a short activity. Even though Langkawi is usually crowded at this time of year, our tour was just three people. Walking through the rainforest was really refreshing, especially for someone like me who usually lives in Kuala Lumpur. I got bitten by a lot of insects, Japanese repellent didn’t work. the tiger-balm(?) repellent Rohdi, our guide, had seemed to work better. She shared many interesting things, but the most memorable was how some leaves can be used like natural hand soap. When I applied it to insect bites, the itching went away. She also reminded me of a Japanese word “shinrin-yoku,” which I had forgotten even as a Japanese. Rodhi said, even for experienced guide, there’s always something new to discover, so I’d love to join again next time I’m in Langkawi.

Our guide, Jien, made the tour very enjoyable. He taught us a lot about the local plants, and we were also able to spot a few insects. In addition, he explained how to behave in the jungle. Conversations with him were relaxed and interesting. Overall, it was a very pleasant experience with a very friendly and knowledgeable guide.

Really enjoyed the jungle trek! Our guides Rodhi and Wanda were super friendly and knowledgeable. Would highly recommend! (Also would strongly suggest wearing long sleeves and trousers, and carrying water).

If you wish to learn more about Langkawi’s rainforests, this is the walk for you. Our guide Shafwan was, in addition to being friendly and helpful, extremely knowledgeable. We learnt a great deal about rainforest trees and plant life from him. He’s a true nature lover who enjoys jungle trekking and exploring and we enjoyed hearing his stories. He has given us a deeper appreciation of rainforests and that is exactly what you want from a walk like this. Absolutely highly recommended.

We went with our two daughters, aged 5 and 7, on the night time wildlife tour. We set off around 530 up the mountain stopping to see some interesting wildlife and learn some facts about the local area. Our guide Afie was knowledgeable and articulate and great at spotting birds. It was very relaxed, and the children had a great time too. The walking part in the dark was a highlight as we saw a flying squirrel glide from tree to tree. We also spotted a toad. Fantastic experience thank you xx

It was fantastic experience on the boat. In the morning it rained. However it became fine when we got on the boat. For us, we received nice atomosphare with a good tour guide.

The Rainforest Walk took about two hours and was led by Shafwan, our very well informed and helpful guide. Shafwan told us a lot about trees, animals, birds, insects, and more, and stopped regularly to point out items of interest and to explain what we were seeing. He helped us to have some sense of the complexity of the rainforest. The walk is not very strenuous but you do need to be reasonably fit. This was an excellent experience. Enjoyable and informative and I recommend it in the strongest terms.

This is a relatively easy morning walk under dense rainforest canopy. Sabah is a wonderful guide. He enjoys sharing his knowledge of the plants and animals. He points out ecology and adaptation in action. Recommended!
