The one day hike up Mt Fuji is absolutely not for the faint of heart. I've done hikes that are twice the length, but the first kilometer of Fuji absolutely wrecked me. The climb will be at a constant incline of at times that felt like 60 degree angles. The only breaks will be the various rest stations. We got very lucky and the weather was clear for the most part with just occasional fog rolling thru. The trip down will be "easier" , but the loose gravel/ash can hide rocks with will ruin your day, so stay vigilant. So some tips, get a solid breakfast and pack light. If you have any doubts of your fitness level split the trip up into two days. Final shout out to our guide Masa and our driver Ren. They were both very professional and helped me and my siblings create some lasting memories.

One of the best experiences in my life!! We were unfit and never hiked before but was committed to getting to the summit, which with the support of our guides and some good weather, we managed to do it even if we couldn’t feel our legs afterwards. Our tour guides Riley and Ryu were very friendly and funny throughout the entire climb and wouldn’t have wished for anyone else. This is a must do if you want to challenge yourself and would recommend this to anyone who’s up for it. One of the best experiences ever 😁
