5.00I’ve joined several sushi-making workshops in Osaka and Kyoto, but somehow never tried the most humble classic — the onigiri. So I booked a session here out of curiosity. The experience begins with a brief introduction to onigiri basics, followed by the hands-on part. Shaping the rice with my own hands is surprisingly satisfying, and enjoying the onigiri as dinner feels even better. It’s an excellent activity for children as well. Unlike other cooking classes that require many tools, making onigiri is very intuitive — it’s all about the feel of the rice in your hands. The staff speak English, so communication is easy and stress-free. A simple, honest, and genuinely enjoyable workshop.
