What To Expect
Phantasea Tropical Botanical Garden
The garden started as one woman's vision to create a true botanical garden for the residents of St. Thomas as well as visitors from around the world. Phantasea Tropical Botanical Garden now has over 1000 orchids growing naturally in the landscape, hundreds of bromeliads and other exotic tropical plants. The garden is approx. 2 acres and the average visit is 45 minutes to one hour.

1.00We booked this on TripAdvisor using the Third party to reserve. They charge more than double the entrance fee and allow you to enter your Resort or hotel for pickup. They do not pick you up! This is entrance to the botanical garden only. Just take a cab to the gardens and save your money! I'm sure the gardens are beautiful but we never got to them after numerous calls and complaints. Do not book from this site!!!

1.00We booked the tour based on the description that said that it included a guide. We get to the garden, and there is no guide. The only reason we booked it with Great Exploration Tours and paid more for the tickets is because we thought it included a guide to explain things to us. Otherwise, we would have bought the tickets for less once we got to the garden!! It's a scam, why would you pay more and get nothing extra?

5.00Don't be fooled by the small appearance! We had a wonderful time walking through the gardens (peaceful) looking at the BEAUTIFUL orchids. Saw orchids that I had neve seen before. Worth the time and price to stop and enjoy

2.00Total waste of money. I believe the cost of admission advertised here is 12 ish. The actual admission is 10 for adults. I paid 185 ish total for admission and transportation. First of all when we were picked up , we were picked up with 2 other groups who were scheduled to do the tour we paid for and booked 2 days before. We had to sit through the first 2 stops of their tour before we were dropped off. Then at the gardens admission was only 10 for adults and 5 for children. So basically it would have cost me 25 to enter for my party of 2 adults and 1 child. The rest charged by this company was transportation of about 80 each way! I paid half of that to get from my resort of Margaritaville on the East end to downtown Charollotte Amalie. Then we were done with the gardens in about 30 minutes and called for pick up and the driver kept trying to tell me their was no rush despite us being already done and waiting out front. This is because he was trying to service the other folks on the island tour even though we were the only family booked for this tour. They basically try to take short cuts by doing out your and pick up drop off in between the other. It was a unprofessional overpriced mess. Do not book. Grab a taxi and go for way cheaper.
