4.00I have taken a lot of walking tours and while enjoyed this tour and I’m glad I did it, I can’t say it was one of the better ones I’ve done. Julia, our guide, was lovely and knowledgeable, no complaints there, however I just found there was a lot of walking between stops/points of interest. I am not aware of much of Newcastle's history, hence taking the tour, but I felt more content was needed on this tour. We did it at night, in winter, so it was dark, this could easily have been been a day time tour, there was nothing significant about it being at night, it didn’t add to the atmosphere of the stories. I would only suggest that was for traffic safety reasons.

4.001. The story at Parnell Place of the shelling by the Japanese during WW2, taught me more of the impact of Japanese attacks on Australia, beyond the submarine in Sydney Harbour and the bombing of Darwin. This was an eye opener. 2. A great presentation by our Guide Julia - well researched, detailed and entertaining. Thanks.
