What To Expect
Ngong Ping 360
Ngong Ping 360, Hong Kong’s unique attraction, combines a 5.7km cableway between Tung Chung and Ngong Ping with an impressive traditional Chinese culturally themed village located in the heart of Lantau’s Country Park. The spectacular 25 minute cable car ride will enable guests to enjoy spectacular views of panoramic vistas of Lantau Country Park, South China Sea and Hong Kong’s award winning International Airport. As your cabin approaches Ngong Ping you will begin to catch glimpses of the Tian Tan Giant Buddha located next to Ngong Ping Village. The Village boasts traditional Chinese architectural design and the cultural and spiritual integrity of the area.

1.00If you just want to purchase tickets for the round trip cable car to the big Buddha where you can access the Buddha and temple grounds, I would highly advise purchasing them through the Ngong Ping 360 official website. The local vendor that TripAdvisor/Viator uses for these tickets will not refund your money if you need to cancel or change your date, even if you make a mistake in booking. I called and emailed customer support and they were no help. The ticket window told me I could have changed date or cancelled if I had purchased on their official website. Their prices were less expensive and they offered senior discount, too. I had to pay for new tickets at the venue because of this. I highly recommend this activity, but I would not purchase through TripAdvisor/Viator.

5.00We reached the great Buddha statue with Ngong Ping 360 together with a group of ten people. The journey was pleasant, the driving kind and competent. For lunch you have to adapt to what the village offers in terms of comfort mail food was great. The weather was nice but windy, especially up high.

5.00Ride with great views (good weather). From Buddha also great view to More, Monastery etc. Small park with restaurants and cafes on the mountain. Also things to do and information, and souvenir shops
Spent too long queueing. 3 hours total that takes a good part of your day.

3.00The ride was very good but we queued for over 2 hours to get onto the cable car and over an hour for the return. We arrived at midday. If we had been told the time involved we may have returned for an earlier start.

5.00A very good walk, the view is very beautiful, the place very well cared for and when reaching the temple and the Buddha is spectacular. The only problem is the queue, it is worth going from crystal to catch less queue.

3.00The trip was quite beautiful with the lush landscape and open views from the cable car. The trip takes about 20 minutes The lines were extraordinary long and the wait in the queue was over an hour or more we heard from others, lucky we had pre bought our tickets, but still had a good 30 minute wait, then once you get to ticket window for pre-purchased your rushed to the cable car by bypassing the normal line. You would think if you pre purchased it would be all electronic and no need for a line to go to a window, but no, that doesn't happen. Its a bit chaotic. Make sure you don't get in the wrong lane. The staff aren't the best at communication, they really need more people to help navigate this part of the visit. If you catch the train here, don't waste time dawdling around, get straight to the line. The best thing we did was purchase the crystal cabinet ticket, and on the way back we got upgraded free to the glass bottom cabin. It was still pretty cool and recommend to others.
