5.00We did both the Maid of the Mist and Cave of the Winds with Debbie as our guide, and she's the reason the day went from "great views" to a trip we're still talking about. From the moment she handed out the ponchos she set the tone — warm, funny, and clearly someone who loves the falls and never gets tired of showing them off. On the boat she made sure our group had a good spot at the rail before we pushed up toward Horseshoe Falls, and she gave us fair warning on exactly when we were about to get soaked (we did — completely, and worth every second). She had a knack for working in the history and the sheer scale of the place without it ever turning into a lecture, usually right when you were looking at the thing she was describing. Cave of the Winds was the highlight. Debbie walked us out toward the Hurricane Deck, talked us through what to expect, and stayed patient while we all stopped every few feet for photos — she even offered to take some so the whole group could be in them. Standing right under that wall of water with someone that enthusiastic next to you is hard to beat. If you're booking either tour, ask for Debbie by name. Knowledgeable, genuinely kind, and great with a group. Five stars.
