Nicosia
Nicosia, also known as Lefkosia, is the divided capital city of Cyprus. South of the border, on the Greek side, the Cyprus Museum has archaeological finds from the Neolithic to Byzantine periods, including the Aphrodite of Soloi statue. Nearby, the old city’s 16th-century Venetian walls include the Famagusta, Kyrenia and Paphos gates. Inside the walls, a marble mausoleum sits next to 19th-century Faneromeni Church.

5.00The tour of Nicosia and Kyrenia exceeded my expectations by far. I had a memorable day getting deep insights into the life and history of Northern Cyprus, whilst enjoying the architecture, city life and landscapes that we passed on the tour. I can highly recommend the guide/driver Şhebnem.

2.00The driver was nice to us but he always talks with someone else on the phone. He just dropped us and then he leaves, never got the chance to know the history behind castles/places. We even “need” to ask questions just for him to entertain us.
