This is the VIP tour with Magic Mike formerly of Magic Shuttle Bus: real wine connoisseurs/wine tour guides. NOT basic transportation to the wineries, this is THE WINE EXPERIENCE, real wine recommendations. Nobody knows the local wines like us.

Tours are flexible, with pickup and drop-off in downtown Traverse City(some hotels).

Wine Samples ARE included, Tastings, wines, and food are not included in the price of the tour. Other groups may be on the tour - semi-private. We combine groups of couples, groups of 5-6 most likely will have a private vehicle. Large groups will have other vehicles added - GMC Yukons.

What To Expect

Old Mission Peninsula Wine Trail

THE MOVIE STAR EXPERIENCE - Wineries include Hawthorne Vineyards, Mari Vineyards, Bowers Harbor, Chateau Chantal, Chateau Grand Traverse, Brys Estates, Bonobo Winery, 2 Lads and Old Mission Distillery. Semi-Private Day Tours go to 4 wineries, Sunset Tours usually go to 3 wineries and the distillery. Private Tour groups can usually customize their 4 stop itinerary. Groups of 6 or more are usually private and can suggest tour stops. WE ARE THE FLEXIBLE TOUR! Don't get TRAPPED on an old bus! Winery selection is based on availability, weather conditions, time of year. Movie Stars Wine Tours guests get picked up and dropped off in Downtown Traverse City. Book the Movie Star Experience! Get to the pickup point, and we can usually drop off at local hotels/motels after the wine tour. Bought a box of wine? No problem, after the wine tour, go out and experience downtown Traverse City, and pick up your wine the next day. Typical tours go 4-5 hours depending on the pace of the group.

Hawthorne Vineyards

Tour guests can buy flights, wine by the glass, bottles or join the wine club during the wine tour. One of the best vineyards in Traverse City, guest can sip, savor and taste some of the best reds and whites on the peninsula. Red wine drinkers can sample Merlot / Cab Franc blend and for the white drinkers try the Auxerrois or Dry Riesling. Guests can get a popcorn flight and even a charcuterie board. One of the newest up and coming wineries on Old Mission Peninsula. The Hawthorne Vineyards site is arguably the most secluded Old Mission Peninsula tasting room site. The tasting room is located on a high bluff with views of both East and West Grand Traverse Bays. Our visitors will be seeing nature– no view of traffic, no close neighbors -- just vineyard, woods and water. Guests can see both bays from the tasting room. An outdoor patio area will provide a relaxing environment with stunning bay views and a cozy outdoor fireplace.

We thoroughly enjoyed our winery tour. Brian was our guide. The vehicle was nice and pick up location was convenient to our rented condo. It was a cool day with sprinkles off and on and Brian took us to the wineries with more indoor seating. He is knowledgable about the wines at each winery and was flexible with the weather and our preferences. Brian made lunch reservations at Brys and that was delicious. The price per person for the tour is very reasonable. We would recommend this tour to friends and family.

My mom and I had the best time celebrating her birthday! Mike was an excellent tour guide and was willing to customize our experience. We not only visited wineries, but also went to a distillery. Mike had so much knowledge to share as well as fantastic recommendations of drinks and wines to try based on our sweet and dry preferences. He picked us up and dropped us off at our hotel. It was such a fun day!

My friend and I did a girls weekend in May and this was the absolute highlight!!!! I’ve been on a few wine tours all over the US and this is by far and away the best!!! Mike was such an expert on the area as well as an incredibly fun host . Highly recommend taking this “non bus “ elite tour for your next wine tour.
