What To Expect

Al Zubara Fort

Situated on the North-Western part of Qatar, the Al Zubarah Fort was built besides the ruins of an ancient fort. Al-Zubarah was once a flourishing port and a centre of trade, fishing and pearling. Now a UNESCO World Heritage site, this protected area has become one of the most important archaeological sites in Qatar. An international team of archaeologists and antiquities experts, led by the Qatar Museums Authority, have uncovered many of the artifacts which are displayed in the renovated fort.

Our driver and tour guide Noor was very friendly, courteous, and knowledgeable. We enjoyed our outing with a lot. If you would like to see and experience something beyond Doha, I would definitely recommend this half day excursion! Remember to ask for Noor as your driver and tour guide.

We booked this tour, although we were concerned about the weather as it was very hot. However, our tour guide Mr. Abdul Rehman was very considerate and made sure that we were comfortable. He is knowledgeable and courteous. We got a detailed description of Qatar's history, geography and culture which we found enriching. I would highly recommend this tour with Mr. Abdul Rehman to all travellers.
