What To Expect
Al Zubara Fort
Situated on the North-Western part of Qatar, the Al Zubarah Fort was built besides the ruins of an ancient fort. Al-Zubarah was once a flourishing port and a centre of trade, fishing and pearling. Now a UNESCO World Heritage site, this protected area has become one of the most important archaeological sites in Qatar. An international team of archaeologists and antiquities experts, led by the Qatar Museums Authority, have uncovered many of the artifacts which are displayed in the renovated fort.

The old pearling and fishing village is the place to see for those interested in heritage and learning more about the history of Qatar.

4.00This is a good tour to do if you want to see parts of Qatar outside of Doha and only have a few hours We went to the Mangrove swamp, the fort and abandoned village, all of which were interesting and accessible Our guide, Noor, was knowledgeable and pointed out areas of interest along the way. He was also familiar with local traditions and history and gave us a good summary of the places we visited This tour is definitely worth a few hours of your time, and it’s also very reasonably priced

5.00We had the pleasure of taking part in a half-day tour of North Qatar, although we only booked spontaneously on the morning of the tour, our guide Noor picked us up at the hotel and was knowledgeable, friendly and passionate about bringing us the beauty and history of the region from start to finish. Noor was very well informed about the local attractions and could give interesting insights into the history and culture of the region. He was also very well organized and made sure that the tour went smoothly and on time, the car ride was safe and pleasant and we were always offered cool drinking water. Overall, we were very satisfied with the tour and can recommend it to anyone who wants to visit North Qatar. Thanks again for the beautiful souvenir photos our guide Noor took of us during the tour.
