Our experienced Northern Lights hunters actively chase clear skies and strong aurora activity using real-time weather forecasts, cloud maps, and solar wind data. Every decision is made during the night to maximize your chances of seeing the Northern Lights. You’ll be driven far away from city lights and light pollution to carefully selected locations deep in Arctic nature. Each night is unique, and there is no fixed route — flexibility is key to success. We also take professional-quality photos of you under the Northern Lights using high-end camera equipment. All edited images are delivered by email after the tour. The tour departs from Rovaniemi, Lapland, and operates from late August to early April, when aurora conditions allow. Duration: approximately 6–8 hours, depending on weather and aurora activity. We were incredibly lucky to have such an amazing driver during our Lapland trip. Joona was always punctual, calm, and extremely professional, even in challenging winter conditions. What truly stood out was his patience and politeness. Traveling as a family with kids isn’t always easy, yet he was consistently kind, understanding, and never rushed us. Couldn’t recommend this tour enough. You can tell the guides have such a passion for what they do. Joona messaged us earlier in the day asking if we could start earlier because of the projected forecast showing how much preparation they put into making sure we had the best experience. We went to a spot that was safe and had wonderful views of the aurora.

Joona Forsgren from Johka Arctic Experiences provided our family with a wonderful day-trip experience to a reindeer farm. He was extremely knowledgeable about all things Finland. He was a great conversationalist, had a tremendous command of English and is a truly wonderful ambassador for his country. He asked if he could take some pictures of us as he has his cameras with him at all times. The bonus came the next day when we received some breath-taking and stunning pictures of our adventures at the reindeer farm. He certainly captured all the beauty and excitement our family experience. His gift of pictures was totally unexpected and very much welcomed. Thanks Joona, for your time. The entire experience was indeed magical! Came without expectations, with dismal weather forecast. But Joona proved us wrong! He came well prepared, with at least 100 pinned locations on his map, driving us near the Swedish borders, studying the wind and all. His passion for his work was very inspiring. Honestly couldn’t have asked for a better and enthusiastic guide! Also, it was a small group tour of max 11 people. Will definitely recommend this tour to everyone (esp those afraid of big groups and crowds).
