Northern Lights Chase
We invite you to our Aurora Camp, where our professional guides will host you for the evening. Above our center, located 30 minutes away from Tromsø and the city lights, the night sky is dark and well suited for northern lights watching. While you wait for the lights to appear, your guide will give you some insight into the natural phenomenon Aurora Borealis. You can also cuddle with our 300 huskies and their puppies and learn about the dog sled racing, breeding and animal welfare on a guided tour of our kennel. Our thermal suits and boots will keep you warm in the arctic winter night! In our cozy Gamme-hut dinner will be served around an open fire. Try Bacalao, a traditional Norwegian fish dish with Portuguese roots made from regional produce (vegetarian option is available upon preliminary request) and a piece of our signature chocolate cake. While you eat, your guide will keep a close eye on the sky and inform you about any Aurora activity! After dinner there is time to watch the northern lights, take pictures and say goodbye to the dogs, before we head back to Tromsø. This tour does not include dog sledding.

We had the most amazing experience. We were really lucky as the sky was clear so we could see the Northern Lights in all their glory. We also very much enjoyed cuddly the huskys. The camp fire was wonderful. All in all a great trip enjoyed by all.

Even though it was cloudy and we didn't get to see the Aurora, it was still a great trip. Good explanation of how they breed, train, work with and look after the Alaskan huskies and why. Very lovely animals who were excited and friendly. Delicious meal and hot drinks followed by watching on the terrace with fires, reindeer skins, cookies and marshmallows, and learned about the Aurora. You can't help the weather.

Very well organised, lovely staff. Dogs are super cute and friendly. The food was delicious. Bonus of seeing the northern lights which is obviously not guaranteed but the location meant very little light pollution and a truly spectacular evening.

Very pleasant visit to meet the huskies and the extremely playful pups. Hosts were great serving a delicious traditional soup. Topped off with view of the northern lights by a fire.

Such a fun time! Our guide was really informative and went out of her way to make sure everyone had a lovely time. The dogs are obviously very loved and well cared for. We had plenty of time to cuddle with both the adults and puppies, were given plenty of food and had an unreal view of the northern lights! Perfect for animal lovers!

We had a fantastic time. We had lots of free time to meet the dogs and puppies prior to the sledding. We also had a snow shoe hike across the wilderness and enjoyed hot beverages and cookies. Our guide Slavo was incredible. He had unlimited information about the northern lights and dogs at the facility. He was very interesting and clearly passionate about the experience which really made it magical. Overall the whole experience was very well organised and facilities clean and pleasant. The food and drink was plentiful and delicious and staff extremely helpful and friendly. We would definitely visit the facility again in the future.

Honestly the dogs are better than the northern lights. They told us all about how they care for their dogs and make sure they have the best lives they can. And of course we got free time to hang out with the dogs!

This was so much better than I expected. The dogs are fantastic fun and warm the heart. The staff are so passionate and proper about what they do that its lovely to see and experience. The wellfare of the dogs is their upmost concern and they work with the personality of each dog. The food and cabin fire dining were great. And the camp fire talk on the Northern lights inspired us to book - despite the weather reports - And we saw them the next day. But on the night of our visit here if the skies were clear - we would have seen them.

I enjoyed this visit even if the huskies were chained. They look very well looked after, and were eager to see us. They wanted to be stroked and loved the attention. You have the choice to get some overalls there. I would advise people to get those as you are going to be licked, rubbed against, jumped on, etc., by the dogs. We learned a lot of cool facts about Alaskan huskies, such as how they are chosen to push a sled, what their diet is, and that they are put up for adoption once they reach a certain age to that they can retire in a warm and cozy Norwegian house. The cod soup was nice, although a bit spicy for me. It reminded me of Portuguese caldeirada. You also get bread with the soup, and a dessert (chocolate cake). Sadly, there was no Northern Lights the evening I visited. It was very slippery on the yard were the dogs were, so I would recommend briging crampons, but I guess it depends on the weather.
