This Northern Lights tour was absolutely unforgettable! From beginning to end, our guide Ivar was exceptional. He was knowledgeable, patient, extremely experienced and you could genuinely tell he was passionate about helping us see the Aurora at its best. He explained everything clearly, knew exactly where to take us for the best chance, and made the whole experience feel safe, well-organized and really personal. Because of him we not only saw the Northern Lights — but we understood what we were seeing. Ivar went above and beyond in every detail and genuinely cared for our safety and that we left with great memories. If you’re thinking about booking a Northern Lights tour — definitely choose Nordland Adventures with Ivar as your guide. You will not regret it. 10/10 experience!

Ivar was a great guide when we went to see the northern lights! The van we drove around in was comfortable, and I appreciated the small group size. We got great pics, including the professional-grade ones Ivar took of us included in the tour. I also loved the included refreshments, particularly the hot black currant juice!

Ivar was a fabulous tour guide! He knew all the best viewing spots to see the light, and took fantastic pictures of the group! Very knowledgeable, friendly, informative and an excellent host! I highly recommend this tour, check the weather forecast before you leave for the best chance of seeing the lights. We toured between 7pm -2am, patience is required to get the best views and pictures! So pack games and snacks to keep the energy high while you wait ☺️

The weather was blurred and I wasn't very happy. Thank you to Ivar S., who spent six hours trying to create a wonderful landscape and a unique experience. Listening to astronomy. I want to request another tour next time. Just do it here. You'll never regret it.

Ivar's enthusiasm and knowledge of the northern lights and the local area made the trip so enjoyable I would recommend it to anyone. The sky was a bit cloudy, but hunting for breaks in the cloud is part of the fun and we were rewarded by some spectacular sights at the first site we stopped at. The rest of the evening was a challenge, due to cloud, but we continued east to about 20km from the Swedish border and had another brief glimpse of the lights in a valley surrounded by snow capped mountains. Ivar can help with camera settings and can supply a tripod for SLR cameras which greatly enhances your chance of capturing this wonderful sight. Hot drinks were provided and after a memorable night I got back to the hotel at about 1.30am!

Bad weather saw the tour called off . The tour operator said you are not going to see any lights through a blanket cloud cover

Ivar was a brilliant guide, really honest about the conditions and prospects of seeing the northern lights. As I had a really limited window his flexibility was really appreciated and we ended up with several memorable sightings, despite it only being an “OKish” night for the lights. His knowledge, enthusiasm and interest made the experience special, as did providing some photos afterwards from his hi-tech camera. Would thoroughly recommend a tour with Ivar - and have already passed his details to colleagues coming to Bodo in January.

Excellent tour. Our guide Ivan, was very knowledgeable and took us to various different places to "chase" the Northern lights. He is very patient and took care to make sure we were comfortable the whole time.

Ivar was very caring and attentive to the trip-goers needs and able to accommodate to our special needs and requests. He went to lengths to ensure that we were able to find the aurora and help us to take great photos!
