On this tour you will tour the Metropolitan Cathedral of Santiago and through extensive stairs, you will be able to climb the bell tower and then up to an incredible viewpoint, located at the top of the temple. From here, you will have the best view of the historic center of Santiago, with an incredible panoramic view of the Plaza de Armas and the buildings around it, such as the Municipality of Santiago, the Chilean Post Office, the National Historical Museum, among others.
The history of the Metropolitan Cathedral dates back to 1745 when the construction of the current temple began, which is the fifth church built in this place, in front of the Plaza de Armas. It was finally consecrated in 1775, and a few years later the Italian architect Joaquín Toesca was in charge of the construction of the façade that is seen today. The Cathedral was declared a Historical Monument of Chile on July 6, 1951.

5.00It is a very nice experience and the view of Santiago from the bell tower, spectacular. Fernanda, the guide who was in charge of the tour, is an excellent professional and a very charismatic, empathetic and knowledgeable person. I recommend 100% the tour, it is worth the physical effort.

5.00Amazing walk to the Bell Tower of the Metropolitan Cathedral of Santiago! Brandon was our guide, and we can safely say that he is very intelligent, polite and dynamic, plus an excellent photographer! Brandon told us the story of Santiago, the cathedral, the bell tower and also the buildings that remain around the cathedral. Also added to the visit was a beautiful and beautiful kitten that lives in the cathedral, who made the visit even more special.
