You'll learn new cooking techniques that can easily be repeated at home. I was fortunate enough to grow up among the best cooks, my grandmother and my mother. Let the food be our language. I will introduce you how the ingredients can be made at home. In the past times people didn't have many ingredients and used their skills to make the best possible meal. The most important thing in Macedonian cuisine is that the dishes are made from only a few ingredients and you must use your imagination to make the testiest dish from the available products.

We had the pleasure of a cooking class with Sonja this summer and had the most wonderful time. Pick up and drop off was super smooth. Sonja was incredibly accommodating of us being vegetarian and we cooked delicious dishes with Sonja providing some cultural and historical context behind the dishes. A beautiful setting, fabulous company and an absolute must-do if you are visiting Ohrid!

Sonja taught us beech and filled the paprika from the bottom. Common food in North Macedonia. A tasteful and - for Norwegian gourmets - strong dip that was used for everything from snack to dinner. But maybe so educational and experience-rich was the conversation over cooking and eating about life and culture in North Macedonia. It was a memorable afternoon with more understanding of the country. Highly recommended to anyone who wants to experience genuine Macedonian hospitality and learn to cook delicious food with the heart!

This is a must do activity in Ohrid! Sonja and Zoran were fantastic hosts, lovely and so hospitable. They picked us up and drove us to their gorgeous weekend cottage where we learnt how to cook 3 traditional Macedonian dishes which were absolutely amazing, so delicious and simple once you know how. We also sampled some rajika, local beer, wine and Turkish coffee which were all lovely. I definitely recommend doing this activity, as this is one of the best activities I have ever done, it was so much fun and we learnt so much! I can’t wait to replicate the recipes we learnt with Sonja for our friends and family back home!

Had the most amazing time with Sonia and her husband, they were so welcoming and friendly and made us feel at home. We cooked delicious food and all the steps were easy to follow. After we cooked we all sat together and ate and chatted and had a few drinks. I would definitely recommend this trip to anyone who visits Macedonia and we will try and re-create some of the dishes at home.

Sonia picked us up at the designated spot and welcomed us to her lovely country home. The environment was charming and we were involved in all aspects of meal preparstion. The best part was sharing a traditional Macedonian meal with our hostess and her husband. We very warm and inviting experience.

Had an incredible time with Sonja preparing and eating both a starter, a main and a couple of incredible dips. Sonja has made sure everything you make is traditional authentic Macedonian foods that she has had growing up in Ohrid. The class teaches you how to make everything from scratch so we can bring these recipes home and try them out; Sonja's asked us to send her photos when we try them. This class is one of the best things we've done on any of our holidays, you get to see a true Macedonian way of life. Would recommend to anybody.

We had a fun and delicious time! Sonya was a great teacher and a really smart, sweet person. We made 2 kinds of zelnik, baked beans and bacon, an eggplant dish, and a wonderful appetizer dip made with dried peppers. Highly recommend. It was a highlight of our Ohrid trip.

We had the most wonderful time with Sonja and her husband. We learned all about Macedonian food and traditions. The dishes made were excellent and we ate outside in the garden of their wonderful weekend home outside of Ohrid. If you are thinking about it, book this experience right away! Kim, Gracie, & Norah

Our cooking class with Sonja was one of the highlights of our trip to Ohrid. Sonja picked us up and took us to her lovely home outside the town centre and made us feel at home right away. During the afternoon learnt how to make several different traditional local foods which we would never have attempted or even heard of if not for this class, and all of them were delicious (we also had the opportunity to try some home made Raki!), and we had such a good time we could easily have spent the rest of the afternoon chatting with Sonja and her husband. We would recommend this class to anyone who wants the opportunity for a hands on Macedonian experience where you will learn lots about the local cuisine, culture and history.
