We had chosen the kayaking excursion whilst our cruise ship was in Olden for the day. Everything was perfect and lived up to our expectations. Starting with a thorough briefing we enjoyed spectacular views of the mountains, a unique perspective of the ship and many local colourful stories from our local guides. Would recommend Olden Active to anyone visiting the village, you won’t be disappointed.

I was with a group from the Fred Olsen cruise ship Balmoral. We had Marcus as our instructor . He was very friendly and helpful, the equipment provided was very good and we had a great experience. I would certainly do this again.

The 3 guides were super friendly and informative. The view is outstanding. They supply you with all you need including a dry suit. This was a moderate workout but little “rests” in the fjord on our kayak

We were visiting Olden as part of a cruise to Norway and booked the kayaking activity via P&O On arrival to the port we were directed to the appropriate location and helped to find suitable equipment (dry suits and shoes) to wear. We were then walked a short distance to the kayak boat house and given a safety briefing and life jackets. After a short paddle round the mini lake we were taken onto the fjord. Having not kayaked before my arms got tired but the instructors got us into “raft formation” a couple of times to share information about the local area. This gave my arms the rest they needed. It was nice to see the fjord (and our cruise ship) from a different view point and I would definitely recommend this activity. Peter and Amelia (apologies of that is not the correct spelling) were excellent guides and answered even my random questions with great knowledge

We had a lovely time. Good weather, great guides and spectacular scenery. I liked that our group was comfortably small…sometimes tours are too crowded. This tour wasn’t one of the cruise ship groups but was set up very close by so it was easy to get going.

This was a really fun and exhilarating experience. The activity desk was easy to find, right by the cruise terminal. The guides were very friendly and approachable and they did a great job explaining the do's and don't's and keeping everyone safe. We were provided with wetsuits, including shoes, so you only need to wear light clothing underneath. I was completely dry afterwards, other than my socks. We kayaked for about 2 hours and stopped in a few locations along the way and were told stories about the region. We had a little time to kayak around freely at the last stop and then headed back to the starting point. We didn't go down narrow Fjords, but the views were beautiful and it was a great experience. I recommend taking a waterproof casing for your phone with a lanyard to keep it safe and it's worth leaving valuables in the hotel or on the cruiseship as there aren't lockers, only open chests to leave your belongings in. It's worth visiting the cafe above the meeting point, it's really quaint and the bathrooms are clean.

We booked the beginners kayaking tour in Olden when we in port on a cruise. It’s nice and close to the cruise port, so really easy to get there. We were part of a large family group ranging from 10years old up to 60s. We all got kitted out with dry suits and floatation devices, and the instructor ran us through what to do and safety procedures. We all thoroughly enjoyed the trip, worth every penny. Highly recommended.

An amazing trip with attention to detail and safety features. The guides face so much information and were so welcoming as was everyone in Olden
