Make a reservation for a special opportunity to visit an independent beer, wine, and mead producer located near San José and taste our distinctly local products during a small-group guided tasting. Pick from two tour times, and make your own way to the meadery in Santa Bárbara, Heredia. After touring the fermentation room, taste six different meads, beers, and wines—which are made from locally grown flowers, fruits, and other botanicals—in the company of the owners.

5.00Mead is NOT the syrupy sweet concoction I thought it was! This was very informative and fun! Loved the wines and beers so much so that we bought several (and I'm a big Cab Sav person) we had fun and learned alot !

5.00This is a very unique experience! We learned so much about the processes of making different alcoholic beverages including mead. Michael chose the meads and beer based on our preferences and we loved every single one of them. It was such a fun and educational experience! Michael is very personable and really good at explaining clearly.

5.00Everything was very good, the person was very friendly at all times and made it very clear what the process is. If you like craft beer and are interested in the process, it is definitely worth attending, it is quick and you have the opportunity to try 6 different ones, each with a different flavor and style.

5.00Wonderful educational experience. Premises clean as a whistle. We bought a few bottles to take home. No outside tour because of the rain 😕. We will return for the tour and restaurant.

5.00It was an excellent evening. I went with family and we loved the experience. Not only did we taste some very unique and delicious wines, meads and beers from their vast selection, we also got a very thorough explanation of their ingredients, inspirations and facts related to their development, from the master brewer Alejandra and co owner Michael. They source fresh ingredients from the Herb Farm next door, and we even got the surprise that one of the ingredients used in one of the samplings, we had tasted in one of the dishes from the restaurant that very day. These shine through the different bottles and there´s definitely one for everyone. Even amidst the heavy rain, we felt very welcome and satisfied with both the products and the tasting. We will definitely be back!

5.00Alejandra and Michael were a blast to spend some time with and sample a few of their best-selling meads. My husband and I were on our honeymoon and we love mead so of course we had to do a mead tasting! Michael gave us a brief tour of the facility before handing us over to his wife and brains behind the brewing, Alejandra. She walked us through the history and experimentation behind each mead and her passion for her work and the unique local, fresh ingredients she uses was infectious. It was unlike any other mead we’ve ever had but in the best way! We bought a few bottles to bring back to our hotel with us and will be the first to buy more when they’re able to ship to the US. If you love mead, craft beers, or trying new drinks from around the globe, you must do a mead tasting with Alejandra and Michael!

5.00What a great discovery. The co owner of the Meadery Michael called to confirm our scheduled tasting reservation. He graciously made reservations for us next door at the Restaurant located at the Ark farm. It was hard to choose my favorite Mead as they were all amazing. You can tell Michael and his wife have a passion and love what they do. Don’t miss this wonderful experience.

5.00It was a very great experience. The owners truly provided us a unique experience and were very welcoming. All of the beers, wine, and mead were amazing so the only "issue" was selecting one we liked the most so we purchased all of the ones we tasted. Overall, we had an amazing time and will definitely go back. I highly recommend!
