Meet our herd of 300 reindeer and join on a 30-minute sleigh ride while enjoying the beautiful nature a and the wonderful northern night sky!
We cannot predict when lady aurora shows up, but we are lucky to have a location with very little light pollution and beautiful nature to experience this phenomenon in all its splendour!
After a sleigh ride of about 30 minutes, you will head towards the fence and feed our lovely reindeers.
Right after, you will head to our Gamme-hut where you will enjoy some hot drinks and you will get to taste our reindeer stew or our hearty vegan soup.
When we are all comfortable, our Sami guide will tell you more about the Sami culture and history, they will show you some of our traditional crafts.
At the end of the tour, when the rest of the group heads back to Tromsø, you will be accompanied to your tent where you will learn how to keep yourselves warm through the night, just like it has been done for centuries, in what we call “hot tent camping”.

Amazing experience! The reindeer feeding was lovely. We enjoyed the Sami experience even more. Our Guide Liza was fantastic and we learned a lot. After the tour we stayed overnight in the traditional lavvo. It was very cosy with the twinkeling lights and the fire. We had Marshmallows and hot chocolate by the fire outside. When we thought the night could not get better, the northern lights started to appear through the thick clouds. We had the whole area to ourselfes and watched the northern lights dance above us. It started raining during the night and was quite windy, but we stayed dry and warm during the night in the tent. (You just have to be aware to keep the fire going in the tent every couple of hours.) In the morning we got a huge breakfast, everything you can imagine. We were lucky to be able to feed and pet the reindeer again alone in the morning! Once in a lifetime experience and a new core memory for us! Thank you to the whole Team!! We forgot an iPad in the tent, but the staff managed to bring it back to Tromso for us to pick it up. We were so releaved and thankful!

It was a great tour! The driver and the staff at the location were very hospitable and attentive. We enjoyed staying on authentic Sami hut on top of feeding the deer and riding a deer sled. Having the bonfires around the camp was a great bonus and added to the authentic atmosphere of the Sami camp.

The overnight was an amazing experience. It started out with a larger group feeding the reindeer and sledding. As we were in the second group to feed the reindeer, they seemed less interested in being fed. Then after dinner we learned about the Sami culture and talked to one of the guides and got a chance to answer questions about reindeer and the Sami people. The overnight was a very small group, where each group got their own tent. We did have to put more wood on the fire every hour to keep the tent warm. We were able to spend the evening by the fire toasting marshmallows and looking at the Northern Lights, and then we settled into our tents for the evening. There is no running water at the camp, but there were twinkly lights and charging ports in the tent itself. That morning we had breakfast, and were able to feed the reindeer again in a group of just 3 people, which was a lovely intimate experience, and the reindeer were quite interested.

We enjoyed our over night stay a lot. First you get picked up at around 6 and take a bus to the reindeer camp there you can feed the reindeers and go on a sledge ride, we were so lucky to see the polar lights! Also the introduction to the sami culture was one of our hoglights. The best thing about staying over night is that you have the camp all to yourself and the lavvo is really cozy. I recommend to pack a little bag, as you don't have so much space in the tent. In the night we saw a lot mlre northern lights and grilled marshmellows at a the campfire and in the morning you have a great atmosphere at the camp. 100% recommendation if you already plan on seeing the reindeers!

A seamless experience from start to end. The reindeer sledding and overnight stay was, without knowing exactly what I was in for, a perfect combination of a activities - informative: learning about Sami culture and their ways of living by Sami people, and being shown techniques on using the lasso to catch reindeer; homely: a cosy tent equipped with hot drinks, snacks, fire and comforts of the reindeer skin, along with the delicious reindeer stew served for dinner and amazing morning breakfast; safe: clear instructions from the staff, especially about safety around the reindeer. The sledding was great, it feels like a wild rollercoaster. You just go around a small loop in 20 minutes or so, but the reindeer still picked up some speed with gentle curves and inclines, it was still exciting. We were also lucky enough to witness the aurora on a clear night.

Feeding the reindeer was great drum and the sleigh ride was good. The highlight was staying over in one of their warm tents, would fully recommend. The talk about the Sami tribe was really interesting, although the Indians in the group were the rudest, inconsiderate bunch of a-holes I have ever had the displeasure to be in a room with, the speaker pushed through and provided some great insights into the Sami’s lifestyle. Personally not a big fan of reindeer stew for dinner, but breakfast was nice.

The absolute highlight of my trip to Tromso! I highly recommend to go for the overnight option, it gives the best value for money and is a great alternative to staying in a downtown hotel for a night. Very authentic feeling thanks to the sami guides who offer an insight into their culture. And who can say they rode like santa???

We are 3 friends and we spent the most magical nights possible in this Sami camp, we went to bed at 3am after spending the evening talking dancing and drinking beers with the Sami, their welcome was magical, they love animals so much and their job was so great. The tent is top comfort, everything was great explained and everything to welcome us as well as possible, we even saw the Northern Lights. We can’t thank Mikael (the camp leader) and his team enough for the unforgettable evening we spent with them. The breakfast the next day was also excellent. Everyone welcomed us so well as if we knew them forever. We recommend 100%, go for it!!!
