Paddling takes place in the Karloveské branch of the Danube, guided by an experienced instructor. At the start of each session, the guide explains the basics and shows you how to get into the kayak. You'll prepare the boats together. Bathrooms and changing rooms are available. These events are open to everyone — even complete beginners. Once you're settled in your kayak, you’ll begin exploring the beautiful area while learning the basics of kayaking. Along the way, you might spot beavers and other local wildlife. The beavers come out when the sun sets, usually, so there is a higher chance of seeing them in the evening. On hot days, bring your swimsuit — there’s a chance to take a refreshing swim at the island!

I had a fantastic time kayaking on the Danube with Nina. She was a great instructor who explained what I needed to do and why it was important. The two hours went by very quickly and I finished the session feeling confident kayaking and having had a brilliant time.

We booked online in the morning, hoping to kayak that afternoon. The online chat said we could arrive at any time all day until they closed and we’d get the kayaks for three hours. When we arrived around 2 pm, there was no one at the building. We called the contact number and the person said he was driving to Croatia and would call us back. We waited 15 minutes. A few other tourists then arrived with canoes. They said they knew the owners personally, and when they called the owners we found out we were the very first people to ever book with Viator and the system was not in place to help us. We then spoke on the phone with a different woman who said she would try to get us a refund, but she never called me back or emailed me. The other tourists who knew the owners asked to see our booking confirmation, then said we could borrow the kayaks for a few hours on our own. We did that, but didn’t get a guided tour. Very expensive and unorganized. If the other tourists hadn’t been there I’d be out $100 with nothing to show for it. The woman on the phone was apologetic and nice but I would still like a refund of at least part of what I paid, considering we didn’t get the experience described. The other tourists we met were quite kind and helpful and even gave us snacks! And we did get to kayak, which was great, but it was frustrating overall.
