The PADI E-learning Advanced Open Water course can be completed in 2 days and consists of 5 adventure dives. Two of these will be a deep dive and a navigation dive and then you get to choose 3 more dives from 9 available adventure dives. A very fun course and will greatly improve your scuba diving skills.

Diving within 18 hours of flying is not recommended. All participants will be required to complete a health questionnaire prior to diving. Some pre-existing medical conditions (eg asthma, heart conditions, etc) may prevent you from diving, please consult your doctor

What To Expect
First you will choose your 3 elective adventure dives after consultation with one of our instructors. For each of the 5 adventure dives that you complete for the course you will have to read the chapter in the PADI Adventures in Diving manual and fill out the corresponding knowledge reviews, or we can send you an PADI e-book so that you can do your reading at home before arriving here in Koh Samui. The course consists of 2-3 days of boat dives depending on which package that you choose. This is a really fun course and after completion you will be certified to dive to depths of up to 30 meters. A typical course would consist of the following: Day 1 We will pick you up at your hotel approximately 7:10 to take you to the boat pier. At the pier you will review your dives for the day with your instructor discuss what you will be doing on the days dives and any preparation you may need. You will arrive at your first dive site between 8:50 and 9:20 depending on which dive site you and your instructor have chose for the day. You will complete 2 or 3 dives during the day with lunch in between and then will return to Koh Samui between 1:15 and 2:30. After your dives you will review your knowledge reviews with your instructor and debrief the dives for the day. Day 2 Day 2 will run pretty much the same as day 1 as far as the schedule. After your dives you will return to the shop again to finish your knowledge portion and process your PADI advanced open water certification. We also offer an advanced open water + nitrox certification course. This course is great if you plan on using your advanced certification to do deep diving or liveaboard in the future as being certified to use nitrox can greatly extend your bottom time on dives.

5.00Samui Discovery Divers, certified me with Open Water, Advanced Diver and Enriched Air Diver. For my first Open Water my instructor Mei Yang was very attentive to the fact that I was not a strong swimmer and over the course I not only received my Open Water but also gained more confidence to swim further both with and without my BCD. Her in-depth knowledge of both PADI and long experience of teaching not only guided me through my Open Water certification but also taught my more aspects on respecting the ocean and the marine environment. Samui Discovery Divers impressive manner of service and care taken during my first course lead me within two months too further my studies into Advanced Diver & Enriched Air Diver. Eric Vinik instructed me and my buddy for our Advanced Diver & Enriched Air. He gave us ample time to study our E Learning prior to the course and was on hand to answer any questions before we arrived at the dive sites. With the Deep Dive & Enriched Air more focus was placed on the safety and gassing out so that we understood that the pre checks of both equipment and dive site where essential. Eric has dived and instructed for many decades and all around the world so it was nice also to hear his stories that gave us a boarder view of the joy of being a PADI Diver.

5.00My second trip to Samui after a DSD with discovery dive center in July. I took the ow and aow courses this time and got my certification thanks to the lovely team and my professional instructor Mei Yang. They have excellent boats, fast, clean, stable(Thanks to the captain here) and all kinds of equipments. Even I wear glasses, they have suitable masks for me. The dives were really amazing, especially the trip to sail rock and Chumphon, where whale shark appears. My instructor Mei Yang is very professional and is very experienced under the sea. She can always find some creatures that are hard to find. She is very concerned about the students and has patience and responsibility. I learnt a lot from her. She shared a lot about her experience that made the whole course full of pleasure. Finally, thanks again to my instructor, the captain, the staff and the whole team. Really wonderful experience!
