If you’ve ever wondered what it’s like to breathe underwater, the PADI Discover Scuba Diving experience (or Intro Dive) is just what you’re looking for. And the beautiful Dive Bus reef is the perfect place to do it.
The Discover Scuba Dive (DSD) experience is a quick, easy and fun introduction to what it takes to explore the underwater world, followed by an amazing dive.

What To Expect
In a short, fun session in our open air classroom, your Dive Bus instructor will take you through the clear, simple PADI Discover Scuba Dive Participant Guide (included) which covers the scuba dive equipment you’ll be using, basic scuba skills, safety guidelines and information about some of the hundreds fish and corals you'll be seeing. Once you're geared up, it's a short walk into the shallow water of the bay, where you’ll breathe underwater for the first time. It's easier than you might think and most folks find it easier than breathing through a snorkel. After learning a few basic dive skills and getting used to your equipment you'll head straight out for your Open Water Dive! Your dive will last up to 1 hour, although it will feel like 5 minutes... Which is why you'll probably want to book a Repeat DSD right away!

5.00Last year, our teenagers, aged 16 and 13, began their PADI Open Water course in the Netherlands, but due to unforeseen circumstances, they couldn’t finish it. After consulting with The Dive Bus team, we were delighted to learn they could complete the course in Curaçao. On The Dive Bus’s recommendation, I decided to join them—because really, what’s more fun than diving with your own children? Under the expert, friendly, and calm guidance of Collin—the most relaxed dive instructor I’ve ever met—we practiced all the necessary skills and completed four beautiful dives. The result: all three of us proudly earned our PADI Open Water certification. It was, in one word, fantastic! The kids were in their element underwater, soaking up the sights and having an absolute blast. I might have been a little calmer, but I enjoyed every single moment just as much. The Dive Bus team is warm, knowledgeable, and incredibly helpful, always ready to think along and find solutions. We’ll definitely be diving with them again on our next trip to Curaçao!

5.00We had such an incredible experience with The Dive Bus—hands down the best dive shop in Curaçao! I’m an Advanced Open Water diver, but it had been a little while since my last dive, so I was looking for a refresher. My husband isn’t certified but has done a few beginner dives before, and this time he was doing two Discover Scuba Dives in one session. He was still a bit nervous going in, but the instructor was fantastic—calm, patient, and so reassuring. They took the time to really make him feel safe and confident, and by the end of the first dive, he was totally hooked. The entire Dive Bus team was friendly, welcoming, and highly professional. The communication leading up to our dives was amazing—quick, helpful responses that made everything seamless. The dives themselves were stunning and really well-run, but what truly stood out was how customer-focused this team is. There was no rushing, just a relaxed, supportive vibe and a genuine passion for making sure everyone has the best possible experience. If you’re looking to dive in Curaçao, I can’t recommend The Dive Bus enough. This is the place to go for an unforgettable, well-supported dive experience with people who truly care.

5.00It's not too old to try scuba! I''m 55 years old and just did Discover Scuba with The dive Bus on March 12. I've always wanted to try it. After reading all the positive reviews I decided The Dive Bus was the way to go. They did not disappoint. Steve was so patient and explained everything so well. I felt safe, comfortable, and so glad I did it. I highly recommend The Dive Bus. P.S. Thank you, Whitney for "gently" asking if I needed a souvenir, lol. I love my hat, and wear it proudly (some may say, I'm bragging, lol).

5.00Mark and the crew at the Dive Bus are the best! We were nervous first-time divers and we couldn’t have asked for a more thoughtful and patient guide. Their house reef was outstanding - we even saw a family of squid! If you are thinking of doing a first time dive here (or really any dive) do it!!!!

5.00Whitney was incredibly welcoming and a great instructor for my first time. The course was thorough, and I felt comfortable getting my gear setup, using it, and almost immediately felt at home in the water. We immediately booked another dive and it was once again great with Whitney meeting us at the location and we took our rental car to and from. The house reef was filled with a variety of fish, coral and coral nursery, and was easy to access across the street from the shop. We also got some great photos from the Turtle & Ray photographer who was with us. Our trip to Tugboat Beach was also great with lots of see. We enjoyed the experience so much that I'm getting certified and we'll be using The Dive Bus again on our upcoming trip. Can't recommend them enough.
