Fantastic experience! Jo was a wonderful instructor and her assistant Lara was also so helpful. They created an awesome, fun atmosphere, especially for us baking novices. The new location is beautiful! Would highly recommend. The oven had a slight issue on the day of our class; even then, the pastries were DELICIOUS!

The Kitchen (Jo and team) provided a wonderful experience for my girlfriend and I. We made the delicious Pastel de nada pastries and had so much fun doing so. Jo was so informative, lively, and made sure our experience was a 20/10. This has been the highlight of our trip. I could not recommend booking with The Kitchen more and when we return to Lagos, we will definitely be taking another class with Jo. Thank you for making our visit so special!! We had a blast.

Excellent fun 2hrs, learning how to cook one of my favourite sweet treats! Went with my wife and my mum, who is in her 80s, and the experience was accessible and fun for all of us. Joana makes the whole thing fun (even through the most fiddly steps) and the glass of port wine at the end was a very welcome addition:-)

It was wonderful. We learned to bake pasteis de nata in threes. The explanations were super helpful and the result very delicious. It was so much fun. We got a lot of tips and are happy to take a little bit of Portugal home. Are we sure we'll be back?

My husband and 2 girlfriend's--all bakers and eaters of fine desserts--attended this class. It could not have been better. Learned some shortcuts to making both delicious custard but also fabulously flakey pastry. We can't wait to try at home.

We arrived (myself and daughter (15))to be greeted by Joanna- very friendly. There were 6 others who joined too. We had stations around the table in pairs. First of all we learned how to make the custard filling and then we had a go at making our own puff pastry. This was fab. Whilst the pastel de natas were baking, we did a quiz and were poured a glass of port. Once baked we tasted and sprinkled optional cinnamon (delicious). Thoroughly enjoyed our time and now feel confident to have a go once we are home. Thank you Joanna.

This was a wonderful experience. My husband and I had a great time learning how to make Pastel de Nata. Joana and Lara did an amazing job. Unfortunately our Pasteis didn’t turn out too good due to our own fault(make sure you separate the egg yolks properly). Joana felt so bad that she made an entire new batch the next day and hand delivered them to all of us. She is a wonderful person and is very passionate about her cooking and teaching.
