Ever wonder what a bird’s eye view of Penang is like? The Rainbow Skywalk and Observatory Deck offer stunning seamless views of George Town and beyond. Located at George Town’s highest point, the open-air Rainbow Skywalk is at Level 68, on the rooftop of Komtar tower, offering visitors the thrilling experience of walking on air 249m above ground. Meanwhile the air-conditioned Observatory Deck at Level 65 also features a glass walkway that lets you watch the world go by below. Beside the views, visitors can find double rainbows that arch into a pot of gold, a horseshoe chair and a unique hanging musical orchestra. Also on the rooftop, Coco Cabana Bar & Bistro offers great tapas food and cocktails as well as a great view. Enjoy the feeling of being on the top of the world.

Getting your bearings at KOMTAR is straightforward: once your Grab drops you off, just follow the signage directly to the ticket counters. They offer quite a few bundled packages; we opted for the combination covering the Rainbow Skywalk, Observation Deck, Jurassic Research Center, and the Boutique Aquarium. Standing 60-odd stories above Penang is genuinely spectacular. The Observation Deck offers a stunning 360 degrees panorama spanning the city skyline, the iconic bridges, the harbor, and the distant hills. It is an excellent spot to decompress with a cold drink, provided your nerves can handle the glass floor looking straight down to the streets below. The facility is well-maintained, and the staff deserve a shoutout; they manage to be strictly safety-conscious while keeping things warm, welcoming, and genuinely friendly. As for the rest of the bundle: the dinosaur exhibit is well-executed, though admittedly it caters more to the wonder of younger children than cynical adults. The aquarium is a cozy space, but it packs a surprising variety of marine life, from rays to sea urchins. Even with the weekend crowd, foot traffic flowed reasonably well. A quick insider tip: Don't just rush out after the main attractions. The lower levels of KOMTAR hold some great local retail nuggets. We stumbled upon a shop called Bee Gee and walked away with beautifully crafted Peranakan kebayas at incredibly fair prices. These cultural garments are becoming rare as younger generations move away from the craft, so finding them felt special. The two owners were incredibly patient, sharing the history behind the pieces without a hint of a pushy sales pitch. Between the dizzying heights above and the cultural finds below, it’s a day well spent in George Town.

Convenient location. Followed the sign to enter the elevator that took the visitors up to level 65 and level 68 subsequently. Great view from the indoor observation deck. The panoramic views from the Rainbow Skybridge were breathtaking. Even it was not too long, it was quite enjoyable. The floor of the Rainbow Skybridge was transparent, so shoe covers were compulsory. Nice staffs. The entrance fee was affordable. However, some add-on charges such as photos were little bit expensive. Stayed about one hour.

Great time, depending when you go it may not be too busy , no real reason to skip the line , although I would recommend skipping the line / cable cars . Lovely roof top restaurant

What a waste of time and money. Yes you get great views of Penang, however the walkway is very small. Too many people(children) allowed on at once. Unable to get decent pictures as crowded. There were no directions before of where to go. No signs afterwards on how to get out. Very poor organisation

As indicated on the 65th floor viewing table, there is a small space here, there is a paid telescope equipment, and there is also a small glass location for visitors to check. At the beginning, remove shoes first, if you are afraid of height, look forward, not down. The photos taken here are very characteristic, with a view of 65 floors below, and the back has the entire background of the city, which is worth taking a shot.

Entrance was easy. Beautiful experience. It's a must. People are very nice. We did the rainbow walk and went upstairs for the city view. Do not wear skirt. I did, but they sell leggins and pants in the third floor at a very affordable price.

I accidentally double booked our tickets for this tour, and I was very, very happy to learn that they were willing to refund the amount of our second payment. Not all tour companies are this easy to deal with and we were thrilled to have such a positive experience.

Was cool to walk the sky bridge albeit the few metres of it. Lot's of added extra costs up the top if you get conned in to buying photo's, eating, going on the harness walk, etc. The view was okay but the smog made visibility pretty poor. You wouldn't be missing out if you didn't go.

The place allows to have a view of all Georgetown, the rainbow skybow allows to be above the void. It is possible to make attractions on the floor below and have a drink.
