Similar to our comprehensive route (also available on Viator) but taking a specific focus on the literary and artistic aspects of our experiences, we will journey back through time, from writers of the communist era (Hrabal & Kundera), to interwar avant-garde artists (an added bonus from our comprehensive tour), passing back through the decades of Kafka, to the Romantic undercurrents of the nineteenth century.

What To Expect
U Zlateho tygra
Each of our stops will be like the chapter of a story book, revealing something about the history Czech literature. We'll gradually move out from the busier streets of the Old Town, and our stories will also gradually move backwards through time.
We won't reveal too much of the details here - try to guess, or prepare to be surprised, what you will learn!

It was great to hear about all of these literary and historical figures and get a view of Prague that was different from the standard, crowded-places tours.

5.00Fergus really knows everything about Prague and its literary history. It’s a tour that makes you think about your own life while exploring the beautiful city of Prague. Filled with historical knowledge and intriguing anecdotes, it’s the perfect tour for anyone with an interest in Kundera or Kafka. And all of that is done by a really nice guy who makes you feel more than welcome in Prague. Definitely recommend!

5.00The tour was very comprehensive … within the first 15 minutes it was very clear Fergus loves what he does … and that comes through in the tour. Succinct when necessary, well researched and also thoughtfully curated. With the literary tour I thoroughly enjoyed discussing Hrabal, one of my favourite writers and widening my understanding of Prague’s literary movements with the historic and socio-economic movements. 5 stars and 100% recommended!

5.00Fergus is probably the most knowledgeable guide I’ve ever had and wove all of it into a really compelling story of Prague full of intrigue and scandal, and highlighted so many points of interest I never would’ve known otherwise. Highly recommend for history and literature buffs!

5.00I have lived in Prague for few years , but going to this tour was totally worth it . walking prague and knowing the places history and literature related to it makes all of those places have an even great sense and beauty than just a building .
