Charters will leave from Pete's Pier and head out the Crystal River to an area in the gulf we call "The Scallop Grounds" (About a 45 minute boat ride). Once at our first location guests will gear up with a mask, snorkel, fins, and a scallop bag, all provided with your charter. And when you're geared up and get in the water, you essentially start to snorkel along the surface and look down into the seagrass for scallops! Once you spot a scallop, you'll dive down, grab it, put it in your scallop bag, and repeat! You will also have an in-water guide included with your charter that can help assist anyone newer to snorkeling or scalloping. They can help teach you their tips and tricks on how to locate and find scallops and how to dive down and catch them as well. The best way to describe this activity is like an underwater easter egg hunt! The limit for scallops in Citrus County is up to 2 gallons per person or 10 gallons per vessel, so the goal is to fill your limit! There will be two separate coolers aboard stocked with ice, one for scallops and one for food & drinks. So feel free to bring lunch, snacks, drinks etc. When the charter is over we will return back to Pete's Pier.

Our scalloping trip with Captain Judge and Gabby was absolutely incredible! Judge made the whole experience smooth and fun — he knew exactly where to take us and made everyone feel safe and comfortable on the boat. Gabby was amazing in the water, pointing out scallops, giving tips, and making sure everyone was having a great time. They’re the perfect team: professional, knowledgeable, and so much fun to be with. We came back with a cooler full of scallops and even better memories. If you’re looking for the BEST scallop charter in Crystal River, book with Judge and Gabby — you won’t regret it!

There are many factors to a great charter. 1) The people. 2) The boat 3) The location 4) The results Suncoast Scalloping hits it out of the park on all four of the above. Gabby and Judge are the kind of people that you say,” I knew them back be when they just got started, now they are booked weeks in advanced. Book them now while you can. I cannot recall a more enjoyable trip with people that love their job and cherish one of the few pristine environments left in Florida. Don’t just sit in a boat hoping that a fish comes by. Get out in the gin clear water, harvest your dinner with your own 2 hands while safely snorkeling in the Florida that many charters advertise but rarely deliver. Book it now, go get yourself a bag full scallops.

We had the most incredible time scalloping with Premier Scalloping Adventure. It was safe, exciting and educational. If you are looking for a fun outdoor activity that both adults and children can enjoy, I highly recommend scalloping with Judge and Gaby.
