Join us on this fully guided, small group day tour from Queenstown to the world-renowned Milford Sound; the crowning jewel of Fiordland.
Highlights of the drive include Lake Wakatipu, Devil’s Staircase, the truly majestic mountains of Fiordland, Mirror Lake, Lake Gunn and Homer Tunnel, with multiple stops along the way for photo opportunities and Kea bird spotting (the world’s largest alpine parrot).
We then travel through the mind-blowing Homer Tunnel, emerging as the valley descends sharply down to Milford Sound, with its hundreds of waterfalls cascading into crystal clear waters.
With Cruise Milford (the No. 1 Cruise in Miflord Sound), you’ll be travelling on a smaller boat, which is less crowded and where the crew offer a much more informative and personal tour of Milford Sound. You’ll be getting close to New Zealand fur seals basking on the rocks, massive rock faces rising for hundreds of metres out of the sea and see waterfalls cascade from ancient rainforest high in the mountains.
At the end of the day your guide will drop you at the Glenorchy Air Base for your return, scenic flight back from Milford to Queenstown for the ultimate birds eye view of this stunning region.

A fabulous day. The bus ride to Milford Sound was great- a long journey made easy with lots of stops at beautiful locations and Kaitlyn was an excellent driver and guide. The fjord itself is beautiful. The icing-on-the-cake was the flight back. Joseph, our pilot made us feel safe and gave a great commentary on the stunning landscape. A special and memorable day. Flawlessly organised. 100% recommend.

Glen our driver was excellent. Plenty of stops on the way to Milford Sound. Cruise was great - being on a smaller vessel allowed us to get close to seals and the waterfalls. Flight back was awesome, helped by the blue skys. Ben the pilot did a great job showing us valleys and waterfalls and snowy peaks. The trip is expensive but worth the money.

Stunning views travelling to Milford albeit a long journey. The boat trip was lovely and was as we expected. Having been to Doubtful Sounds the day before, in the rain, it was lovely to see a fjord in the sun. We had booked a flight home but despite what we thought was good weather the plane was cancelled. This was very disappointing as it was one of the reasons we chose this trip. We would have liked a better explanation for the cancellation.

Everything was as described and more. Really enjoyed the drive there and fly back. Comfortable vans with great stops along the way. The sound is amazing. Couldn't give this a higher rating!

We were supposed to take the bus to Milford Sound and fly back. Unfortunately the weather didn't cooperate and we had to take the bus back. This was unfortunate, but Zoey was our tour guide and she made the trip amazingly fun. She provided us with commentary along the way and stopped at a number of viewpoints. The cruise was good but the weather conditions were not the best. I would highly recommend the trip and hopefully you get Zoey as your guide.

Excellent tour! Highly recommended. Our tour guide and driver, Daniel, was terrific. We particularly loved his playlist curated to suit each part of the trip to Milford Sound. We had plenty of stops to take the obligatory photos and to simply enjoy being in such spectacular places. The mini bus was modern, clean and comfortable. We each got a lunch cooler bag containing a chicken sandwich, small quinoa salad, chocolate cake, apple, orange juice and some mints. Daniel also offered muesli bars, chips and motion sickness tablets for the 2 hour cruise. The cruise didn’t end up being that choppy but it was really windy! Definitely have warm clothes ready. We flew back to Queenstown which was a fabulous experience. The airport is located next to the cruise pier so it was a short transfer by bus immediately after the cruise finished. Then there was a taxi waiting at Queenstown Airport waiting to return you to your original pick up point. Very well organised. Well worth the money spent. Much better than travelling in a large coach.

This was an amazing tour from start to finish! Our guide Joe was fantastic - he was funny and knowledgeable, and he shared so many interesting stories and facts throughout the journey. Every part of the tour was filled with incredible views, and the scenic plane ride back to Queenstown was the perfect way to end the day.

The sight seeing tour and cruise of Milford Sound were incredible. Our tour guide, Jess, was knowledgeable of the route and surrounding area, and made quite a long day of driving seem to go by quite fast with fun stories and historical facts. We had a lovely time and would absolutely recommend.
