Join us on this fully guided, small group day tour from Queenstown to the world-renowned Milford Sound; the crowning jewel of Fiordland.
Description
Highlights of the drive include Lake Wakatipu, Devil’s Staircase, the truly majestic mountains of Fiordland, Mirror Lake, Lake Gunn and Homer Tunnel, with multiple stops along the way for photo opportunities and Kea bird spotting (the world’s largest alpine parrot).
We then travel through the mind-blowing Homer Tunnel, emerging as the valley descends sharply down to Milford Sound, with its hundreds of waterfalls cascading into crystal clear waters.
With Cruise Milford (the No. 1 Cruise in Miflord Sound), you’ll be travelling on a smaller boat, which is less crowded and where the crew offer a much more informative and personal tour of Milford Sound. You’ll be getting close to New Zealand fur seals basking on the rocks, massive rock faces rising for hundreds of metres out of the sea and see waterfalls cascade from ancient rainforest high in the mountains.
At the end of the day your guide will drop you at the Glenorchy Air Base for your return, scenic flight back from Milford to Queenstown for the ultimate birds eye view of this stunning region.

Cancellation Policy
Terms: Tours will only run if at least 5 people have booked on the tour, we reserves the right to alter the tour due to weather or operational needs.
A full refund will be issued for cancellations made a minimum of 10 days prior to the scheduled departure time.

The bus ride and tour...

5.00The bus ride and tour with multiple stops on the way to the Sound was very nice. I do recommend taking the plane ride back to Queenstown though, as the bus ride is about 3 hours each way. Plus, it gives the opportunity to see the landscape from land, sea and air. All of which are truly amazing.

5.00Great trip it was a good number of people not too big and Andy the driver was great providing stories and antidotes. He gave us s much information about what we were seeing and far we were until next stop. The weather was perfect for flight home and Isabella was a great pilot! Couldn’t have been any better!

5.00Danny was an excellent tour guide, and the whole tour was easy and very engaging and fun. We made a bunch of quick stops up to Milford Sound for great photo opportunities. Danny offered to take everyone’s photos, and he’s a pro. He filled us in on the Mauri and European histories of the land. We had a great lunch included and the flexibility to eat anytime during the afternoon. It was a misty and drizzly day, which added to the drama of Milford Sound. The cruise itself was smooth and mostly quiet- perfect for relaxing and taking photos and enjoying the serenity and scale of the park. It’s truly magnificent and worth seeing if you are in Queenstown for even a day or two. My scenic flight home was unfortunately cancelled due to winds, but it was still fun driving back with Danny and the crew. We had become friends throughout the day, so it was nice to end the day with the whole group. I would highly recommend this tour.

5.00This was an awesome experience. It was seamless everything ran like clockwork and we were never rushed. The guide/driver Glen was absolutely brilliant and knowledgeable but not to the point where you think please stop talking. He made time for everyone chatting and answering our questions. Glen was brilliant. He got us to our boat on Milford sound perfectly on time giving us clear instructions. He then showed us to our pilot for our return trip. Sad to say good bye! The mini van ride was very comfortable and lunch delicious. Glen even changed my dietary requirements at the last minute because I forgot. Highly recommend this company. Our milford sound coach then boat and fly back to Queenstown was worth every penny! An experience I will always remember!! Thankyou Glen and Cheeky Kiwi Tours!⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

5.00Joe, our tour guide, was awesome! He really went out of his way to make sure everyone was comfortable and having a good time. He put his personal touch into it-- brought us rocks to skip on the lake and did a trivia game on the way home! Our scenic flight got canceled and it was no fault of Cheeky Kiwi's, but we appreciated that Joe kept us informed and even attempted to get us on another flight. Also, our refund for the flight was processed before we were even out of the Fiordland. Perfect way to see the beautiful stops along the way to the sound and we got back in record time. 10/10 would do again!!

5.00Our tour to Milford Sound with Danny is one of the highlights of our New Zealand adventures. Danny started our tour with a friendly hello early in the morning. He made sure that all passengers were comfortable and settled and then he invited us to introduce ourselves to each other. This simple process set the tone for a sense of connection and fun during the whole (long) day. Milford Sound was incredible. It was well worth booking this day long tour. The countryside and towns on the trip were intriguing. Danny heightened our experience by sharing his curated soundtrack and even included fun games to meld the group and keep our spirits up. In short, Danny was amazing and sets the standard for future NZ tours. Well done, Danny! We loved it. Betsy and Marty
