Singing Barkhan

We will start our trip in the morning to reach Baschy village at noon. Baschy village is a base point for both natural sights of Altyn-Emel park. After a nice lunch at the guest house we will go to famous Singing Barkhan. This place is a natural phenomenon. In the middle of the steppe there is a huge sand dune. It looks like somebody moved it from Sahara desert to Almaty surroundings. And when people slide down the dune it really sings! You will have free time to hike the dune and enjoy local natural beauty. On the way you will also observe animals which inhabit this reserve area. Many of them are in the Red List. Mountain sheep, gazelle, Przewalski's horse, saiga, stork, golden eagle, crane, etc. You will finish your busy day at the hospitable guest house with good supper and cozy atmosphere!

Aktau Mountains

On the next day after a breakfast we will visit colorful Aktau chalk mountains. Scientists argue that this place was the bottom of ancient Tetis ocean. And you can really believe it. Astonishing picturesque landscapes look like from other planets. Different mountains of all bright colors are presented here. From snow white to saturated red. There is a path along the bottom of dry river which you can walk deep in the gorge.

700 Year Old Willow/Kosbastau

On the way from Aktau Mountains there is a unique 700 y.o. willow growing in the middle of the steppe. It has massive roots and plenty of old branches. During the centuries it has created cozy oasis with cool shadow and fresh underground spring with mineral water. After free time at this oasis we go to Almaty!
