  Alternative Trekking Nepal and Mr. Tej Gurung have been thoroughly professional and dealt with our Manaslu Circuit Trek program very well. Every aspect was explained in detail. The guide assigned to us, Dilal was very energetic and had clarity on how to conduct the Trek. The team of Guide, Dilal and the porters were very courteous, helpful and smiling. They ensured all our needs were met and our queries were answered. We had a great, successful Trek and we are thankful to this team.

  We had the most amazing trip with Nepal Alternative Treks and Expeditions! Our guide Lax and porter Ram took fantastic care of us from start to finish. They always found us the best accommodation each night and offered great advice throughout the trek — especially when it came to food recommendations! The trek itself went far beyond our expectations. The scenery was incredibly varied, and each day became more beautiful as we got closer to the mountains.   What an experience! This trip has been on my bucket list for a while and I couldn’t have asked for a better company or guide&porter. Lax and Ram were a great, they made us feel so welcome and took the trip at our pace. Everything was very well taken care of and organized from the moment we landed, it was all stress free.   I'm very happy to have found Alternative Trekking. It was by far the cheapest price, which first made me suspicious, but turned out perfect! I went with a friend and someone else joined, too (after we agreed - it seems like other agencies sometimes add people to the group without asking, but Tej made sure we're okay with a third person joining). We had the trip of a lifetime, memories we'll never forget. I've been hiking in Austria, Italy, Portugal and Peru before, but the views we had here were exceptionally beautiful (especially on Larke Pass Day). A huuuge thanks goes out to our guide Raj. He always checked how we're doing, noticed every detail and gave us the confidence we needed to do this hike (even without Diamox). He always knew what to do, even when we felt at our lowest.   I recently completed the Manaslu Circuit Trek with Nepal Alternative Treks & Expeditions, and I can honestly say I wouldn’t have been able to do it without them. From start to finish, everything was so well taken care of. A huge thank you to Amar, our head guide. He made the trek not only safe and comfortable, but also so much more meaningful. I love being curious on the trail always asking “what’s this peak?” or “what does that mean in the local culture?” and Amar was able to answer every question with so much knowledge and patience. His English is excellent, he explains things clearly, and he has this calm way of making sure everyone feels looked after. He always made sure we had good food, felt safe on the trail, and were comfortable after long days. Truly an incredible guide. The porters were also amazing. Their strength, support, and positivity kept us moving forward every single day. There were moments I felt like I couldn’t push anymore, and it was their help that made it possible. I have so much respect and gratitude for them. And behind the scenes, Tej was incredible, from picking us up at the airport, organizing all the details, to making sure we were dropped off at the end. Everything felt seamless. I didn’t have to worry about logistics for a single moment, which made the whole experience even more enjoyable. This trek was one of the most meaningful journeys I’ve ever taken, and a huge part of that is thanks to Nepal Alternative Treks & Expeditions and their wonderful team. If you’re considering trekking in Nepal, I can’t recommend them enough. You’ll be in the best hands.

  Great experience with Alternative Nepal. Together with a friend we booked the Manaslu track for 11 days. Alternative Nepal was professional and fast in communication before the start of the track and helped us with the preparations. During the track, Laxman was a great guide and handled everything along the way, e.g. rooms at accommodations, food and water, etc. In addition, Laxman also updated us on the days to come and checked in with our personal health. We would book again with Alternative Nepal!

  Even though i couldnt finish Manaslu circuit trek and had to be rescued by helicopter. I can confirm high quality service from this company especially the owner Tej and my guide Sanjay. I couldnt imagine better service and assistance. So if you plan to do trekking here or any other activites, you can definetly choose this company and be in safe hands. :) Richard

  We did the Manaslu circuit trekking in our private small group: a porter, a guide, my two adult sons and me. We expected a challenging trip, and it was! From Europe we contacted Nepal Alternative Treks & Expeditions and the company took care of all our needs: permits, a guide, a porter, transfer from and to the airport (with a meet and greet with flowers), briefing the day before the start of the trip... the punctuality was super. The first day we made the transfer to the start of the trekking by public bus, and that is something to avoid ... better pay a little bit more for a private jeep. The trekking was extremely nice but for me as a 65 year old father also very challenging. I was very happy to be with a guide who took care of me the whole trip (also of my sons, but they are young ... so for them the trekking was a little bit easier). We did the trekking at our pace, there was always plenty of good food and the lodges were quite comfy (except the last one before the pass). We skipped the acclimatization day and the guide made new arrangements for the lodges to come. He also arranged a jeep for the drive back to Kathmandu. The next day, we met the manager of the company for a drink and a debriefing in town, and we got also our certificate. If we ever go back to Nepal to do another trekking, we definitely would choose Nepal Alternative Treks again. Everything was perfect and I give them a 10 out of 10 score.

  This was my fifth time in Nepal, but my first time using Nepal Alternative Treks and Expeditions. I had average experiences with other tour agencies. With Tej (the MD of the company), I must say that he is the best tour operator I’ve used in Nepal. From day one which was several months before time, Tej tirelessly answered all queries me and my friends had. He is professional, friendly and helpful in all aspects. Also the price he quoted was competitive and reasonable. The staff, our guide and porters are excellent. They are caring, efficient, service minded, making our journey safe, comfortable and memorable. All arrangements that Tej provided are impressive, we have our guide Kumar greeted us at the airport. Tej also personally welcomed and briefed us at the hotel. We’ve got maps, T-shirts and beanies as souvenirs. Kumar helped out with all preparations. Private jeeps to the beginning of the trek and back to Kathmandu. Dinner celebration, certificate ceremony and sending us off at the airport. The trip was so smooth and beyond our expectations, all of us are happy and we highly recommend Tej and his company.

  We went to the Tsum Valley and then to Manaslu, and had a super great time! The organization was first class starting with the meeting at the airport when we arrived. The vehicle transportation to the start of the trek was exceptional. The guides were super helpful, caring, considerate and fun. The Tsum valley is a beyul, a sacred valley that radiates peace out to the whole world. We found that area particularly wonderful and heart warming, with great views, and wonderful people. I recommend that before going to the beyul visitors learn more and study the importance of this sacred area. One source of information is the web site Nepalbeyul. The guides selected the tea houses on the route and were very thoughtful and kind in looking after us. Thanks for a great trip!
