We had a phenomenal time with Julio of Atlanta Dtours on this tour. He picked us up from our hotel and served as a personal guide throughout Atlanta. Visiting Margaret Mitchell's apartment, home and gravestone was really incredible, but the best part was a stop at the library where we got to see her actual typewriter, first editions of Gone with the Wind as well as actual scripts from the screenplay. To see "Frankly my dear, I don't give a damn!" on the page was absolutely amazing. We enjoyed spending time with Julio, including learning about the vibrant arts culture in Atlanta. Don't miss this!

Excellent experience thanks to the skills of Julio our guide. We have been privileged to be able to approach and consult valuable documents thanks to the kindness and skill of librarians who do outstanding work and share their passion.

We loved the tour experience. We learned a lot about Margret Mitchell and got to visit her home where she wrote the book Gone with the Wind. Went to the Library where her typewriter is displayed there with some other items of hers. We passed by the neighborhood she grew up at and stopped to look at the last house she lived at. We got to visit the Oakland Cemetery where she is buried at. It was amazing to be able to do this as private tour.

The city of Atlanta, by Margaret Mitchell, the author of The Wind Walked, is now a museum, a home where she lived and wrote her famous novel. Almost all of his stuff is well-preserved, and the desk and print on it are history. We’re sitting on one of their living room couches, listening to an agent’s quirky information about Mrs. Mitchell and her novel, and answering questions. In another building in the garden, a video of the film, footage of the movie’s premiere night in Atlanta, pictures of the actors Clark Gable and Vivien Leigh on the walls, and scenes from the film make us nostalgic.

Thought I already did this but... The private tour was amazing!! Our guide, Dan, was very knowledgeable about Atlanta's history and showed us many places in Atlanta that I didn't know were there. He actually took us in a different direction than just the tour we signed up for and as a result, got to see so much more of Atlanta's history, neighborhoods, etc. Would definitely book through Viator again.
