We have a Blast! It was a beautiful sunny day . The Trip was awesome! Incredible nice places . A lot to see… Took hundred of pictures Lunch was awesome also in a small fisherman town along the Amafi coast. Great experience! The only advice I suggest: when you book ask for an english speaking skipper. That would help to communicate better.

Michele was very helpful. We had a great time. Michele showed us the cave and fall by swimming and dragging the rope tied to the floating tube since we are not very good swimmer and couldn't swim too far into the sea.

Wanted to see the Amalfi coast with my family of 5, and there's no better way to do it than from the water. I was originally planning to just travel along the coast by ferry to see it but so glad I went this route instead. The ferry seems very crowded, long lines, and operates on its own schedule. Chose this tour because it allowed us to have our own boat with skipper (5 people) while others seemed to be 10+ shared boat - though larger boat. This tour also was willing to pick us up at a dock at Vietri Sul Mare where we were staying vs. having to travel to Salerno like the others which was very convenient (and cheaper). They were also cheaper overall than the other choices on Viator leaving from Salerno area. Overall, we had a great time! The family loved being on the water in our own boat, being able to swim, stopping at Positano and Amalfi. Francesco, our skipper, was great. Super nice, super chill and flexible, good driver, and spoke good enough English. Here are some notes however regarding this tour: 1) The boat was actually a dinghy (a solid and roomy one at that), but not one of the boats shown in the pictures on the Viator page. Initially I was disappointed in this when I saw it, but at the end of the day, the dinghy had plenty of room for the 5 of us to either sit (in the shade under the awning if wanted) or lay up on the bow to take it all in. It had same seating space and setup as the pics on the site. So while it wasn't a "boat" like in the pics, it was very close to what they showed - just different material. I do believe the 7 seater boat is more like the pics on the site and not a dinghy. 2) You can control the schedule for where you want to stop and visit and/or swim, but there are only about 8 hours on this trip (we got picked up at 9:45A and returned around 5:45P), so the longer you stay at one place - the less time you have to do other stuff like swim or visit other places. We spent about 2-2.5 hours in Positano to eat lunch and shop a bit, so this ate into our time to spend at Amalfi. It took about 1.5 hours to get to Positano which was our first stop. We only did about 30-35 minutes at Amalfi, just to check it out, but would have liked bit more to see it better. 3) The company has a relationship for a restaurant in a very small town prior to Positano called Conca dei Marini and will recommend stopping for lunch there after going to Positano (which is the first stop). But there are much better options in Positano (though not cheap) and by the time we landed there, it was about lunch time, so we chose to eat there and glad we did, because we had a fantastic Italian lunch. 4) We did still stop at that small town on the way back to swim at their beach. The beach itself was very rocky, but once you made it into the water and floated, it was actually very nice. Good temperature, in a shaded cove - so not too hot, and lots of fish swimming around (bring goggles and snorkeling gear if you have it). But there is another place to swim as you head back towards Salerno at a waterfall in Marmorata. It looked pretty neat with places to jump from, but we didn't have time so we just cruised past it for pics. 5) I was expecting the fuel to be 70 euros based on other reviewers comments, but ours ended up being 90 so that was a bit of surprise. Not sure if we went longer than other groups or what. This needs to be paid at the end to the skipper in cash. 6) You will need 20 Euro in cash for an embarking/de-embarking fee paid to the dock at the start. It's for the roundtrip, so one time payment for the boat (regardless of # of people). 7) You will also need to pay 30 euro or a water taxi (roundtrip) to take you from this boat to the Positano shore because there is no place for the boat to dock there (it's very crowded). This can be paid via a card to the water taxi company. You won't need this for any of the other stops including Amalfi, just Positano. So overall we paid about 530 euro (plus small tip) for the day. This is still much cheaper than any other boat ride we saw available from Salerno area - even for the ones that include fuel or docking fees. 8) We only swam once, but I would have liked maybe to have swam in another cove somewhere before heading back. In reality, you will only really have time to visit Positano, Amalfi for a bit, and swim once. If you don't want to swim, you can make up time by visiting one of the cities for longer. The trip started off a bit tough for us as I was not hearing any communication from the company the day before r/where to specifically meet and the time. I called and sent several Whatsapp messages to the tour company # and was not hearing back so I was getting nervous that I may have been scammed. But it turns out, Fabio, the tour operator was on his honeymoon in the US making it harder to communicate. And part of the problem was that the waves and wind were predicted to be high the next day which would make the trip unpleasant in a small boat. Fabio finally responded back about 7:30PM and told me he was having to cancel due to the weather. I then was unsure whether I would see my refund, but sure enough I got an email from Viator telling me my trip was cancelled and I could either get a refund or reschedule. Luckily, the weather was forecast to be much better the day after the next and we chose to do it on that day. I was communicating with the local port throughout this as Fabio was not fully available being in the US, and after some confusion on payment, etc. - we were able to get things finalized and scheduled fine. So note, for these small boats, if there are decent sized waves forecasted, the trip may not happen, so have a Plan B day available if you'd want to reschedule. Overall, there is an opportunity for bit better communication throughout this process with more frequent and timely updates - even it means that the company is still debating on whether to do the boat due to weather and more to come. Regardless, once we got going, we just had a great day on the water, and the Amalfi coast is just beautiful. Wish we would have had a few more days to visit some of the other cities along the coast, like Maori, Minori, and Ravello. You won't regret this trip!
