• A day we’ll never forget in Portugal Douro Valley

  My husband and I took the train from Porto to Regua in the Douro valley on a rainy day where Paulo was waiting to pick us up in his very well kept 2008 Land Rover. This was our best excursion yet in our 7 week trip to Europe. We enjoyed a private wine tour at Casa Santa Eufemia family estate. There we had a fantastic lunch and a wine tasting. Paulo then took us on a Back road tour of the area he spent time in as a young man sharing his knowledge of the region. We stopped at a beautiful overlook and he shared wine from his families vineyard. We then proceeded to the village of Barcos. The village had charm and history. We were able to enter Barcos Catholic Church originally built in the 12 century. As we made our way back to the train station through the winding hills we were in awe by just the simple beauty of the valley. Paulo gets our highest rating this trip for helping us plan the day, his attention to detail, his professionalism, and communication.   A perfectly planned and executed day——Paolo thought of everything. The jeeps are clean and comfortable, the views spectacular, the boat ride gorgeous, and driving thru the vineyards was amazing. We visited a small village, had an amazing lunch —with wine pairings— at a Quinta, and had a tour and tasting at a port vineyard. And after ALL of that we were taken to a hilltop picnic with views out over the Douro that are impossible to describe. Best tour we have ever had, anywhere.

  This experience was the most beautiful of our stay. Indeed, thanks to Paulo, we were able to discover an authentic Douro valley rich in history. The program of the day was so well organized that we did not see it parade. From the boat tour on the river through lunch, tasting of Porto in a cellar in the region, picnic and finally all the Jeep rides in the valley paths, the excursion was simply a complete, magical and intimate discovery. Many thanks to Paulo for his high quality work and especially his love for his region. Elva and Florent

  Paulo was fantastic, his communication when booking our tour was great; he responded quickly, was clear and made sure the tour was unique to us by ensuring we didn't go anywhere that we had already planned to visit. On the day he collected us from our accommodation and we started our tour. He treated us to a delicious Pastel de nata and a glass of port made by his uncle which was a lovely unexpected touch. His tour was truly off road meaning we got to see views and places we never would have seen on any of the other trips we'd seen advertised. He was very friendly and knowledgeable and his English was great! The visit to the local village was a lovely addition and the vineyard we visited was perfect. To picnic lunch was beautiful and accompanied by a bottle of wine. In summary; the tour was amazing, great value for money and we would highly recommend Paulo to others.

  Had a fantastic day with Paulo on our trip through the Douro Valley, certainly at the top of our list of things we did throughout Portugal. Even with sloppy weather we had a great time and dodged the rain for incredible vistas, great wine and even better food. Paulo went above and beyond to create an awesome experience even when some of his normal stops were not available due to being the day before Easter. Instead of lunch at one of the vineyards, he set up a lunch at Tomas Eggers wine and tapas shop in Paulo's hometown of Tabuaco. Everyone knows Paulo :) I would highly suggest a visit; we were positive we did not like cod to much after two weeks in Portugal until we had at Chef Eggers .......Can't say enough about this experience, great value, great day with friends along with Paulo being a great host and ambassador for the Douro Valley.   Very Nice tour around Douro valley, we visit some Vineyards, try wine tasting in a few of them, what a great experience it was. Mr. Paulo was a great guide and very helpful We totally recommend this experience to anyone that loves nature and wine :)

  This was our first time doing a 4x4 Douro Adventure, Paulo was amazing, took us to lots of nice places with amazing views. We visit vinaders, offroad thrills, lots of fun... We had a fantastic Picnic with a Douro River view. I can't wait to be back to Tabuaco to do this experience again I totally recomment anyone to do this experience

  Paulo and his team were very attentive with us, which made discovering the Douro magical and away from the crowd. We walked the winding path enjoying the most beautiful spots in the area and taste the local gastronomy in a sumptuous and quiet setting. Visiting the quinta allowed us to learn more about Douro, its grape varieties and port. And we ended the adventure with a magnificent boat ride on the river. Obrigado in Paulo and his team for their warm welcome and this moment of authenticity. Paulo speaks very good French and gave us plenty of good advice for our stay.
