Later eruptions have enlarged the lava-dome complex. This volcano erupted last 22nd April 2015. Highly recommend Maria, great communication prior to the hike. Collected from hotel and spoke excellent English. Maria provided a delicious lunch and was excellent company throughout the hike! The hike itself was really interesting to see the ancient forests and the destruction from previous eruptions. The hike takes you through the forests and the terrain is quite muddy and full of tree roots and obstacles which makes for a good challenge!
