We provide bespoke tours of Australia’s world-renowned Hunter Valley wine country. There’s no set itinerary, everything can be tailored to ensure your visit to the Hunter is a memorable experience, for all the right reasons. Of course, you can leave everything up to us… let us surprise you.

Our tours are private and exclusive, ideally suited to a couple, with a maximum of 4 people. We never combine groups, so no strangers.

Your tour guide, Clive, is a wine lover with a deep love of the Hunter Valley. He has been coming to the Hunter Valley since the mid-eighties to visit cellar doors and attend wine functions. In 2009 he purchased a property in the valley (Lovedale), and moved there permanently in 2019. Clive loves conversation and is always happy to answer any questions you may have.

Lunch is not included in your tour price. We usually allow 90-120 minutes for lunch. Can’t decide where to go for lunch? Why not leave it up to us… we’re happy to make a reservation on your behalf.

Wine tasting fees (if applicable) are not included in your tour price. We'll advise you of any tasting fees prior to your tour. We never add any markup to tasting fees.

Clive’s boutique producers tour was amazing! Great wine, beautiful views, and an all around fun day. Clive was knowledgeable, friendly, and happy to take our photos, even when we ran over for time. Would 100% hire him again, and recommend him to anyone looking for a private tour in the Hunter.

We enjoyed a fun and beautiful day wine tasting with Clive. When we booked the tour, Clive took time to understand our preferences and thoughtfully curated a custom tour. He listened closely to our responses, as each element of the day was carefully designed for us. He features high-quality winemakers and fosters relationships to ensure his guests are well looked after. He is knowledgeable and passionate about the region. It is worth spending a little extra to get a bespoke experience, especially if you care about food and wine. Clive is a fantastic host and guide in the Hunter Valley!

Clive was absolutely lovely, such a perfect way for my partner and our friends to get around the Hunter Valley. Clive was perfect with timings, knowledgeable about the wineries and restaurants, and such a pleasure to talk to throughout the day. Can’t thank him and Heart of Hunter tours enough for the amazing service. We created our own plan for the day, but received some great advice from Clive on timings and alternatives if needed. We each had an amazing day, and would absolutely ask Clive to do a private tour for us again in the future.

We had a wonderful day with Clive. He was punctual, friendly, and certainly very knowledgeable about wine and the various wineries in the Hunter Valley. We were very happy we booked this tour. It certainly was much nicer than taking the cruise tour!

We started with a questionnaire which Clive used to draft an itinerary, and then worked through to finalize every detail before we even met in person! Even then, we were able to carve a bit of extra time for cheese and fudge tasting. The Hunter Valley is beautiful and serene, and we were treated to essentially private tastings with knowledgeable vintners. This man was well known by all, and this tour bears little similarity to American wine country tours. The people are remarkable, as were the Semillon and Shiraz wines we tasted. Be ready to be spoiled, and treated royally by this affable gentleman to whom wine is a passion.

Clive curated the perfect tour for us, taking us to 5 very different but equally wonderful wineries. He was incredibly thoughtful, responsive and organized, keeping us fully informed at all stages of our journey, including providing comprehensive follow up notes for each of the wineries we visited. We appreciated his deep knowledge of the Hunter region and wines and we thoroughly enjoyed our conversations with him. We would highly recommend this tour!
