What To Expect

Meet your English Guide in the lobby of your Xi'an hotel and travel together by taxi (own expense) to local family’s home. You will learn how to make dumplings under the guidance of a local teacher. The English guide will be responsible for the translation. Next, you can participate in making a hearty entree and soak up the welcoming atmosphere of the local family. 1.Mixed the flour and water to a paste. 2.Make Stuffed dumpling stuffing. 3.Make Stuffed dumpling skin. 4.Make Dumplings. On completion of dishes, take a seat at a family table and feast upon the fruits of your labors, Tast to delicious dumplings and rich dishes, Such as Mapo Tofu and Steamed fish or Stewed chicken with potato. we will prepare local beer, drinks and fruit for you. After the end, return to the hotel to rest.

We had an amazing time with Tilla and Jeff Ning’s family making two different types of dumplings. Tilla was so accommodating to our schedules. The Ning family was so hospitable and taught us how to become experts at making dumplings. The home was clean and lovely. We will definitely be back! A highlight of our trip to China for sure.

Awesome cooking class! Dodo was terrific! Juan juan was a very nice host along with her mother-in-law. A very authentic xian home experience. The food was outrageous!! Delicious!! My daughter and I cannot wait to go home and have a dumpling cooking party!

Our tour guide Tilla is very nice and kind. We have spent a splendid time with a local family. They are quite friendly. Jiao Zi is delicious! We definitely recommend this tour for everybody. Next time I plan to learn with them how to make noodles.

We had such an amazing experience! Tilla our English guide was so friendly and helpful. The Ming family were so accommodating and lovely, they taught us how to make traditional Chinese dumplings and we had a proper sit down meal with the family which was so great. I highly recommend this experience.

Two of us signed up for a dumpling making experience in a private home. It was a very nice experience. We were met at our hotel by our guide, Dodo, and then we took an Uber to meet our host and her mother-in-law at their home. We learned how to make and roll out the dough, make the filling, and fold the dumplings. We had a nice meal with the dumplings we made, and additional dishes made by the host (steamed fish, two vegetables, and a cold chicken dish), plus fruit. Nice conversation, and a very warm welcome from everyone. It was a good experience!

Our family booked this tour with a group of 8 people, including 3 children. Our hostess and guide took extremely good care of us. We made dumplings with 2 different fillings. The food was excellent, the hostess was gracious, and we all enjoyed ourselves. Thank you very much!

I made pork dumplings with a family in their home, and it was such a wonderful experience. They were so warm and friendly, my tour guide Lily had great English skills and was really great at explaining everything, and I had fun eating lunch together at their table :) The company had great communication, a really great experience.
