Everything I can say about Silvia is little, so I will sum it up by saying that my memory of Mexico City will always be associated with the three tours she offered us: all different, all done with passion, knowledge and professionalism. And very much so! The first day we were shown the Zocalo, the Cathedral, the tile house, the murals of the Palace of Fine Arts... The second day we also had a driver (Fede, very attentive and helpful) and we could enjoy Xochimilco, the House of Frida Kahlo and Coyoacán, the Anauhacalli museum... The third day we dedicated to the anthropological museum and Chapultepec castle. At the end of the three days we felt we knew the history and culture of Mexico. His advice also helped us plan the rest of our time in the city. In short, I recommend Silvia Luz 100%.

As two history nerds we were so happy to find a fellow nerd in Sylvia. She has this enthusiasm not only for the facts and history, but for how it applies to us today. The tour was an incredible back and forth conversation where our curiosity fueled her energy. It’s not some cookie-cutter tour that she just sleep-walks through. She manages to make ancient history fresh and feel alive. As a couple who rarely takes tours bc they tend to be very surface level and “touristy”, I can’t recommend any tour with Sylvia enough. We are so grateful for the Emerson’s experience we had with her and hope to return to try her other offerings. If you’re looking for a tour of this museum, THIS IS THE ONE!

Sylvia was a fabulous guide for the Anthropology Museum. Not only was she extremely knowledgeable, but she was articulate, helpful and engaging. She involved us by asking us to describe what we were seeing in the museum exhibits. Her enthusiasm for history and culture was infectious. And to top it off, she is a lovely and fun person. I would and will recommend her to friends who travel to Mexico City.

Silvia was an excellent guide. I'd heard the Museum can be overwhelming, with little English signage. Being an historian, Silvia expertly covered the history of Mexico sharing fascinating insights, answering questions and making the mass of exhibits relatable. I highly recommend her as a guide to this amazing must visit museum. Thank you Silvia.

Sylvia was an excellent guide around the museum. She is friendly and extremely knowledgeable about mesoamerican history, and brought the museum to life. I can't imagine how much less valuable it would have been to go through the museum without her. She was also very accommodating, rescheduling when our party couldn't make the scheduled time. A++! Thank you Sylvia.

I've just returned from my first trip to CDMX where I experienced two tours with Silvia; Murals and the Museo Nacional de Antropologia. One of the reasons why I selected Silvia was her fantastic smile in her photos, she seemed genuinely warm and kind. I wasn't wrong! As a guide, I'd recommend booking her based upon her historical knowledge and as a CDMX native, she is an absolute gem! First, I am learning Spanish and she was gracious enough to expertly flex from Spanish to English with me. The Anthro museum is a highlight of CDMX and Silvia brought the history alive. Without her, it would have been just relics and reading museum texts. She highlighted the unique achievements and attributes of each indigenous group. Among a ton of displays, she focused on specific objects and shared the meanings of the symbols. During the murals tour, it was a pleasure to discuss art with Silvia. I left the tour with an understanding of the murals genre, the major artists of the movement and how this genre came to shape the Mexican identity/voice in art history. In addition to all of this, Silvia is kind and easy to chat with. She is someone you will definitely want to spend time with while in Mexico.
