This Northern Lights hunt is your best opportunity to properly chase the precious aurora borealis and observe them. Because the trip is based on the weather forecasts and conditions, you will drive in the most promising directions, away from the light pollution of big towns and villages.

Your professional aurora hunter will also teach you about arctic nature, local lifestyle and northern lights to offer you a complete Lapland experience. The hunt is meant to be both educational and adventurous!

Pictures will be taken by your guide with their professional camera. It is a very useful tool to anticipate the apparition of auroras, find them and capture them!

What To Expect

Treat yourself and your loved ones with the best aurora hunting experience you can imagine. This private Northern Lights tour is organised by an aurora expert guide who will do everything possible to find the auroras for you. The tour lasts up to 6 hours, which allows to drive very far (up to 300km around Rovaniemi) to find clear sky and observe the auroras. Driving far might be the only way to find northern lights, especially when the weather is challenging in Rovaniemi. By staying out for a longer time, you also get the opportunity to see more in the sky and will not miss any Northern lights if they appear late in the night! The tour is private, allowing for an intimate experience adapted to your needs and requests. A specific start time will be suggested, based on our analysis of the weather and conditions (a brief report will be send to you in the morning to inform you about our analysis of the conditions). During the experience, you may always decide together with your guide if you would like to change locations to experience something else or stay longer at the specific place because you enjoy it. Basically, this is YOUR experience.

We loved it! The aurora, Hervé: it's his job! A technician of the Northern Lights, who knows how to put himself at your level to explain how it goes in the sky. A great time by the fire, a nice little meal and beautiful photos sent free and in high quality. We were with family, no difficulty:) And for those who do not speak English: it is even better because all their guides are Francophone! You can book with your eyes closed, Nordic Odyssey takes care of everything and you just have to enjoy!!!
No dawn because of the weather but magical outing!

Beautiful outing, hiking in the forest at night well equipped against the cold and with headlamp, with Hervé the super guide who explained us the fauna and flora. We were hunting the Northern Lights, Hervé was tenacious. The night was covered so no dawn but a magical outing. Thank you Hervé! And campfire with marshmallow, I recommend Nordic Odyssey, their guides are super serious and really looking to please us. In addition the groups are small so it’s really great! Thank you!

Great experience with Lorie. Despite the elements that were not too much in our favor Lorie set up all her knowledge to allow us to see the aurora and the mission was accomplished Beyond hunting Lorie passed on her knowledge and we learned a lot about aurora as well as Finland etc. A super rewarding experience

An incredible experience, almost unreal, made possible thanks to Leo, an exceptional guide! I booked this excursion to hunt the Northern Lights only an hour before departure, and there was only one spot left... What a stroke of luck! After a little over an hour of driving, Leo took us to a magical place, a real piece of paradise away from the crowds. With his expert eye and instinct, he managed to find lost aurora behind clouds that, as if by miracle, dissipated. We witnessed this enchanting spectacle, a dream come true. What makes this experience unique is the personalized approach: no overbooking, no crowded places like those where we crossed paths by leaving a huge bus followed by a dozen minibuses. There we were alone in the world, in an enveloping silence, contemplating the beauty of the sky. Thanks to Leo for his passion, determination and desire to share these magical moments. A memory engraved forever!

I did several activities with Nordic Odyssey, all at the top. The equipment, the support, the guides, the adaptation to the weather conditions... everything was great to be able to make the most of this beautiful discovery of Finland. And a real plus: all explanations in French if needed;-) Thank you

Although the weather was not ideal, our guide Camille was very friendly and helpful and tried in every way to make us enjoy the experience to the fullest. We had a lot of fun and the children will definitely remember this experience.

Apart from a good guide, there's not much more to it than the €60 excursions where they offer you a campfire and the chance to see clouds. You're just wasting your money.
