What To Expect
Mercado Inaquito
We recommend to start this morning without having any breakfast. Your tour guide will pick you up at 10h00 to start an exciting adventure in the old town. While he explain you all about the history of Ecuador and Quito, the Inca Empire, the Spanish invasion and finally the independence and the republican period, you'll have the opportunity to discover new flavours! We drive first to visit a local market, well-known as Mercado Central, where we can try different exotic tropical fruits and local specialties from the Sierra region!
Plaza de la Independencia (Plaza Grande)
During our walk, we will pass through the Independence Square, scenery of many dramatic battles of revolution in the history of the Republic of Ecuador; here you'll have the privilege to try different types of traditional salty and sweet pastries. We will have the privilege to see the Cathedral, the Archbishop’s Palace, the Church of the Sacred Society of Jesus of Quito, summit of the Latin American Baroque Style.

5.00Luis made this 5 hour tour of Quito unforgettable! We toured the historic center, the newer part of the city , the Virgin statue up on the hill to get a sense of Ecuadors place in the middle of the mountains and volcanoes . We learned all about chocolate- how to taste it, and how special the Ecuadorian cacao is. Ended the tour in the big marketplace tasting fruit I've never heard of and having a delicious lunch there. Perfect introduction to this special city.

5.00Seeing the city and sampling food with Jimena was a great experience. Fun to mix history, culture and food together while exploring a new city. Jimena is very knowledgeable and also open to our request to visit a supermarket.

5.00Freddie was an amazing guide and went above and beyond to ensure our family had a great day. Don’t let the “doesn’t include lunch” fool you. We tasted so many different foods (empanadas, snacks, ice cream, chocolate, cocoa, brownies, fruit @ the market) and were plenty full. When access was not available for one attraction, Freddie had another option at the ready.

5.00Our guide, Ximena, was very knowledge and brought us to some great places to try food, from a market for fruits and pulked pork plates to a truly magnificent been to bar Chocklatier. She us birn and raised in Quito and knows so much about the city.

5.00I would give Luis 10 stars if I could. He was amiable, knowledgeable, and accommodating. The food was delicious and the sights were unforgettable. The tour was the perfect balance of activity and eating. Plus, we learned a lot about Quito.
