Let me start by saying the Moais at sunrise were stunning! This however was not a “tour”. Our tour started 20 mins late- apparently the driver was outside on the road- we were waiting at the hotel as discussed when booking. I attempted contact via WhatsApp at 8 mins late, no answer, then called, no answer, then texted again before someone responded with a location. Our guide did not introduce himself. We had a VERY dangerous car ride out to the park. With speeds exceeding 110 k/hr on a pot hole filled dirt road. We almost left the road twice while passing other cars around curves. I do understand he was trying to get us there quickly but on an island with limited emergency services this was unacceptable. When we arrived we were off on our own- he stood in the back of the park with another guide. There were other guides that had brought picnics, flower crowns etc and were taking pictures of their clients. We asked strangers to take our pictures. Then we were driving back to our hotel. No history, no introduction or the Mois or anything. Lucky we had an excellent guide the two previous days so we knew what we were looking at. For the price tag- this was essentially an uncomfortable taxi ride. I would recommend the moais at sunrise but would pick a different company.

Regarding the activity, if the weather is there, which has not been the case today, beautiful photos in perspective. Regarding the guide who had to animate the activity in French, it was not the case, did not speak French, not talkative at all, served us transport!!!

The site is brilliant and a must at Dawn! Thanks to the tour for getting me there however for the price I would expect a little more! I had to coax information out of the guide.

See the Ahu at sunrise. While a blazing sunrise is not guaranteed, it is an amazing location. Tour was a little $$. Especially for 2 people ‘ 3-hours

Best experience, watching the sun come up behind the 15 Miao was spectacular! The cloud cover added to the impressiveness of the sunrise. Mamai is a wonderful guide; fresh local pineapple off of the tailgate at sunrise!! The best!

Maiuru collected us promptly in his car. He took us on a non-bumpy road on time to see the sunrise and helped us choose a good place to stand. Maiuru also took lots of great photos of us which we really appreciate. On the way back, he even stopped so we could take photographs of the sheep farm and also the area where the banana leaf sledding takes place, Cerro nui. We were back at our hotel in time for breakfast after about 2-2.5 hours. Take warm layers and something waterproof to sit on if you wish. Maiuru was a great driver and guide, thank you.

Absolutely an amazing experience.one of the best sunrise views I've witnessed, its because of the history behind what you are looking and surrounded with. You definitely will feel the energy of the island. It's warm and welcoming.

Amazing tour to watch the sunrise. Simply breathtaking Remember to bring a sweatshirt though - it's cold when it is still dark
